Abstract

This research was aimed to analyze the effect of the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) chitosan and a combination of planting media on the growth and yield of caisim (Brassica juncea L.) using a hydroponic wick system. This research was conducted at the Agricultural Instrument Standardization Center (BSIP) Banten Province from January 2023 to March 2023. The experiment used a split plot design with the concentration of chitosan POC (V) as the main plot consisting of 4 levels, namely control (V0), 1 ml /l (V1), 2 ml/l (V2), and 3 ml/l (V3). The subplots were the combination of planting media (M) which consisted of 3 levels, including husk charcoal + 30% zeolite (M1), husk charcoal + 45% seolite (M2), and husk charcoal + 60% zeolite (M3). Chitosan POC did not have a significant effect on all parameters of caisim plant observations. The combination of rice husk charcoal + 60% zeolite growing media gave the best effect on the growth and yield of caisim plants. This was shown to have a very significant effect on plant height parameters on 7 days after plant (DAP) (7.34 cm), 14 DAP (17.03 cm), and 21 DAP (29.66 cm), and had a significant effect on plant height parameters on 28 DAP (38 .71 cm) and plant fresh weight (72.27 g). There was no interaction between the two treatments for all the observed parameters.

Additional Information: Produksi tanaman caisim berfluktuasi akibat berkurangnya luas lahan pertanian, sehingga membutuhkan teknologi alternatif, seperti budidaya dengan hidroponik. Pemberian pupuk organik cair dipercaya dapat membantu meningkatkan hasil produksi tanaman. Pemakaian media tanam yang tepat pada budidaya hidroponik dapat meningkatkan hasil produksi tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa pengaruh konsentrasi pupuk organik cair (POC) chitosan dan kombinasi media tanam pada pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman caisim secara hidroponik sistem sumbu. Penelitian ini dilakukan di screenhouse Badan Penerapan Standarisasi Instrumen Pertanian Banten. Eksperimen dirancang menggunakan split plot design dengan petak utama yakni konsentrasi POC chitosan V0=kontrol, V1=1 ml/l, V2=2 ml/l dan V3=3 ml/l, dan anak petak yakni kombinasi media tanam meliputi, M1=arang sekam + 30%, M2=zeolit arang sekam + 45% zeolit dan M3=arang sekam + 60% zeolit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan POC chitosan berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter pengamatan tanaman caisim. Kombinasi media tanam arang sekam + 60% zeolit memberikan pengaruh terbaik pada pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman caisim, ditunjukkan dengan berpengaruh sangat nyata pada parameter tinggi tanaman 28 HST (38,71 cm) dan bobot basah tanaman (72,27 g). Tidak terdapat interaksi antara perlakuan konsentrasi POC chitosan dan kombinasi media tanam terhadap seluruh parameter yang diamati.
