Abstract
This research aims to explain the historical dynamics of the earth alms tradition in Patat village, Waringinkurung village. This study uses an approach historical with descriptive research type. Data collection is carried out by interview observation and literature study. The theory used is theory Symbolic interaction according to Blumer, in this research the symbolic meaning is Contained in the Earth Alms tradition is communication or interaction between man and his god. Then the theory of structural functionalism by Talcot Parson, is used as a reference in seeing changes in function and relationships between the community in maintaining and maintaining the implementation of the ceremony earth charity. Findings obtained from interview observations with The people of Kampung Patat believe that giving alms to the earth is a tradition passed down from generation to generation which is done by the Patat community as a form of gratitude for the community in particular farming community because they have been given sustenance and favors by Allah SWT. The tradition of giving alms to the earth is routinely carried out every seven years but is deep In its development there have been several changes, for example there are changes series of prayers. In the days of the ancient ancestors of prayer or worship dedicated to Dewi Sri as the goddess of rice. As time progresses and the inclusion of Islamic beliefs as well as the emergence of religious figures in society Patat, there have been changes in the almsgiving tradition in particular in the prayer, now offered to Allah SWT. This is marked with the non-implementation of the earth alms ceremony in 2001 caused by the economic conditions of society and especially because of perspective changes in society towards what people believe. The community does not leave alms of the earth in a sustainable manner. They able to act as a preservation change function in the element of earth alms for the sake of continue and maintain the legacy of our ancestors.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan dinamika sejarah tradisi sedekah bumi di Kampung Patat desa Waringinkurung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan historis dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan observasi wawancara dan studi literatur. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori intetaksi simbolik menurut Blumer, dalam penelitian ini makna simbolik yang terkandung dalam tradisi Sedekah Bumi adalah komunikasi atau interaksi antara manusia dengan tuhannya. Kemudian teori fungsionalisme structural oleh Talcot Parson, dijadikan sebagai acuan dalam melihat perubahan fungsi dan hubungan antar masyarakatnya dalam menjaga dan memelihara terlaksananya upacara sedekah bumi. Temuan yang didapatkan dari observasi wawancara kepada masyarakat Kampung Patat adalah sedekah bumi merupakan tradisi turun temurun yang dilakukan masyarakat Patat sebagai bentuk rasa syukur masyatakat khususnya masyarakat petani karena telah diberikan rezeki dan nikmat oleh Allah SWT. Tradisi sedekah bumi rutin dilaksanakan setiap tujuh tahun sekali namun dalam perkembangannya terjadi beberapa perubahan, contohnya ada pada perubahan rangkaian doa. Pada zaman nenek moyang terdahulu doa atau pemujaan dipersembahkan untuk Dewi Sri sebagai dewi padi. Seiring berkembangnya zaman dan masuknya kepercayaan Islam juga munculnya tokoh Agama dalam masyarakat Patat, muncullah perubahan-perubahan dalam tradisi sedekah bumi khususnya dalam doa tersebut, kini dipersembahkan kepada Allah SWT. Hal tersebut ditandai dengan tidak terlaksanakannya kegiatan upacara sedekah bumi pada tahun 2001 yang disebabkan oleh kondisi ekonomi masyarakat dan khususnya karena adanya perubahan perspektif dalam masyarakat terhadap apa yang masyarakat yakini. Masyarakat tidak meninggalkan sedekah bumi secara berkelanjutan. Mereka mampu bertindak preservasi merubah fungsi dalam unsur sedekah bumi demi melanjutkan dan menjaga warisan nenek moyang. | |||||||||
