Abstract

Abstract: High school students face difficulties in understanding the concept of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions because most of these concepts are abstract in nature. They need to learn three aspects that include the macroscopic, symbolic, and submicroscopic levels of the subject matter. However, the emphasis in schools is more on the macroscopic and symbolic levels. Additionally, the available learning resources do not provide adequate explanations regarding the submicroscopic level, which cannot be directly observed by human eyes or conventional observation tools. Moreover, the instructional models used do not encourage students to actively engage with the curriculum in accordance with the 2013 curriculum. Therefore, this research aims to develop a Contextual-Based E-module on Electrolyte and Non-electrolyte Solutions using the Canva and Heyzine platforms, and to demonstrate the validity and students' response to the E-module. The research adopts the ADDIE model, which involves the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The Contextual-Based Chemistry E-module has been validated by 5 content experts and media experts, with both content and media validation achieving the required level of validity (Vcalc ≥ Vtable, with Vtable = 0.80), namely 0.9 and 0.9. Subsequently, the E-module was tested on 20 students in Grade X at MAN Pandeglang. The results showed that the students responded very positively to the E-module, with a percentage of 93.1%. This indicates that the development of the Contextual-Based E-module can capture students' interest and elicit a positive response from them. Keywords: E-module, Contextual, Electrolyte Non-electrolyte, ADDIE.
