Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology is in line with human needs. Online media is currently one of the new media that provides various needs and services as facilities to support daily activities. The emergence of various media requires the public to choose which media to use according to their motives and needs, including in meeting health needs. The Halodoc application is a medium that offers various health services online. Departing from the Uses and Gratification theory, this study aims to find out what motives exist in Halodoc application users, and what satisfaction is obtained by Halodoc application users, and how motives influence through using the Halodoc application on satisfaction. This study used a quantitative explanatory approach with a regression analysis technique which was processed using the help of SPSS Version 25 software. The research data was collected using a survey method of a population of 158 UNTIRTA communication science students class of 2018. The sample was determined using the simple random sampling method and calculated using the Taro Yamane formula. as many as 62 samples of students who have used and interacted with Halodoc. The results of the study show that the highest motive that underlies users in using the Halodoc application is the information motive. There is a gap between the GS and GO mean on the Entertainment motive, meaning that the Halodoc application has not been able to fulfill entertainment satisfaction. Whereas for information motives, personal identity, social interaction, the mean GS is smaller than the mean GO, meaning that there are no gaps and the Halodoc application is able to provide the satisfaction expected by users. Testing the hypothesis obtained that the motive/gratification sought through the use of the Halodoc application has a positive and significant effect on the satisfaction/gratification obtained obtained by 57.5% while the remaining 42.5% is explained by other variables not included in this study.

Additional Information: Media online saat ini merupakan salah satu new media yang menyediakan beragam kebutuhan dan layanan sebagai fasilitas penunjang aktivitas sehari-hari. Kemunculan beragam media menuntut masyarakat untuk memilih media mana yang digunakan sesuai dengan motif dan kebutuhannya, termasuk dalam memenuhi kebutuhan mengenai kesehatan. Aplikasi Halodoc adalah media yang menawarkan berbagai layanan kesehatan secara online. Berangkat dari teori Uses and Gratification, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh motif melalui penggunaan aplikasi halodoc terhadap kepuasan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif eksplanasi dengan teknik analisis regresi. Populasi adalah mahasiswa ilmu komunikasi UNTIRTA angkatan 2018 dengan sampel sebanyak 62 mahasiswa yang pernah menggunakan dan berinterkasi dengan Halodoc. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motif tertinggi yang mendasari pengguna dalam menggunakan aplikasi Halodoc adalah motif informasi. Terdapat kesenjangan antara mean GS dan GO pada motif Hiburan, artinya aplikasi Halodoc belum mampu memenuhi kepuasan hiburan. Sedangkan pada motif informasi, identitas pribadi, interaksi sosial, mean GS lebih kecil dari mean GO, artinya tidak terdapat kesenjangan dan aplikasi Halodoc mampu memberi kepuasan yang diharapkan pengguna. Pengujian hipotesis diperoleh bahwa motif/gratification sought melalui penggunaan aplikasi Halodoc berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan/gratification obtained yang diperoleh sebesar 57,5% sedangkan sisanya sebesar 42,5% dijelaskan oleh variabel lainnya yang tidak dimasukkan dalam penelitian ini
