Abstract

Plastic waste is a type of waste that poses a serious threat to the environment because in addition to the increasing amount, plastic is one of the biggest problems in Indonesia, namely plastic waste which is very difficult to decompose by the soil. One effort to address this plastic problem is to replace non-degradable plastics with bioplastics. Bioplastics are made from natural materials that can be decomposed by microorganisms, so they are more environmentally friendly than plastic sold at home. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of film thickness. And the method used in this study is a quantitative method. After the research that has been done, the results of the tensile test and contact angle test obtained results in a 15 ml solution which has an average tensile strength value of 0.760 Mpa and has an average contact angle value of 43.9°, for a 20 ml solution it has an average strength value 0.887 Mpa and has an average contact angle value of 51.2°, in 30 ml solution has an average tensile strength value of 1.091 Mpa and has an average contact angle value of 55.7° and finally in 45 ml has an average value of 1.273 Mpa and has an average contact angle value of 75.7°. And it can be concluded that the more the volume of the dried solution increases, the stronger the tensile test value and contact angle value. Additional Information: Sampah plastik merupakan salah satu jenis sampah yang memberikan ancaman serius terhadap lingkungan karena selain jumlahnya semakin membesar, plastik merupakan salah satu masalah terbesar di Indonesia yaitu limbah plastik sampah yang sangat sulit sekali terurai oleh tanah. Salah satu upaya untuk melakukan permasalahan plastik ini adalah dengan mengganti plastik non-degradable menjadi bioplastik. Bioplastik terbuat dari bahan alami yang dapat terurai oleh mikroorganisme, sehingga lebih ramah lingkungan dibandingkan plastik yang dijual rumahan. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari ketebalan film. Dan metode yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitaif. Setelah penelitian yang telah dilakukan didapatkan hasil uji tarik dan uji contact angle diperoleh hasil pada larutan 15 ml memiliki nilai kekuatan tarik rata-rata 0,760 Mpa dan memiliki rata-rata nilai contact angle 43,9°, untuk larutan 20 ml memiliki nilai kekuatan rata-rata 0,887 Mpa dan memiliki rata-rata nilai contact angle sebesar 51,2°, pada larutan 30 ml meiliki nilai kekuatan tarik rata-rata sebesar 1,091 Mpa dan memiliki rata-rata nilai contact angle sebesar 55,7° dan yang terakhir pada larutan 45 ml memiliki nilai rata-rata 1,273 Mpa dan memiliki rata-rata nilai contact angle 75,7°. Dan mendapatkan kesimpulan semakin bertambah nilai volume larutan yang dikeringkan maka semakin kuat nilai uji tarik dan nilai contact angle.
