Abstract
The increasing use of fuel requires a significant supply, which has led to the development of alternative fuels that are expected to replace conventional fuels or petroleum-based fuels. One of these alternative fuels is biomass. Biomass can address the limitations of nonrenewable fuels. In the processing of biomass fuel, gasification methods are used, employing a mixture of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and Coconut Shell. Variations are introduced to enhance the quality of gas output by utilizing natural bayah zeolite catalyst and activated carbon. Therefore, the two main objectives of this research are to comprehend the gasification concept and catalyst activation methods, as well as to determine the optimal variations for obtaining syngas with the highest hydrogen content. The outcomes of this study reveal the best compositions of MSW and Coconut Shell along with the most effective catalyst using gasification methods, resulting in syngas with the highest hydrogen content. The optimal composition is 60% MSW and 40% Coconut Shell, along with catalyst type ZAB B. This composition produces the highest hydrogen content, measuring at 59.2%.
