Abstract
The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of STEM on PjBL approach on mathematical problem solving ability (KPMM) and Adversity Quotient obtained from students before learning. The research method was quantitative. The research design was quasi-experimental nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest design. This study used 2 classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. This research used purposive sampling technique. The research subjects were 20 students of XI MIPA 2 as an experimental class and 19 students of XI MIPA 1 as a control class. The research instruments used mathematical problem solving ability test and non-test in the form of AQ questionnaire. The results showed that the STEM-PjBL model had a positive effect on KPMM. Students who received STEM-PjBL and Scientific models had n-gain of KPMM of 0.48 and 0.35, respectively. The study also showed that AQ has a positive effect on KPMM and there is no interaction effect between the learning model and AQ. Problem solving based on AQ levels are: high AQ students, they are able to see problems from various points of view and find effective solutions in circle problems solving even though there are still mistakes in finding the right solution; medium AQ students, most of them when they find difficulties, they stop and give up more. Students with this level have quite good fighting power before they find difficulties; and low AQ students, they have less fighting power and give up easily

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan STEM on PjBL terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis (KPMM) dan Adversity Quotient yang diperoleh dari siswa sebelum pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen desain nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest. Penelitian ini menggunakan 2 kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek penelitan ini adalah kelas XI MIPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen sebanyak 20 siswa dan kelas XI MIPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol sebanyak 19 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan non tes berupa angket AQ. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model STEM-PjBL berpengaruh positif terhadap KPMM. Siswa yang mendapatkan model STEM-PjBL dan Saintifik memiliki n-gain KPMM berturut-turut 0,48 dan 0,35. Penelitian juga menunjukkan AQ berpengaruh positif terhadap KPMM dan tidak terdapat pengaruh interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan AQ. Pemecahan masalah berdasarkan tingkatan AQ yaitu: siswa AQ tinggi, mereka mampu melihat masalah dari berbagai sudut pandang dan menemukan solusi yang efektif dalam memecahkan masalah lingkaran meskipun masih terdapat kekeliruan dalam menemukan solusi yang tepat; siswa AQ sedang, sebagian besar mereka ketika menemukan kesulitan, mereka lebih banyak berhenti dan menyerah. Siswa dengan tingkatan ini memiliki daya juang yang cukup baik sebelum mereka menemukan kesulitan; dan siswa AQ rendah, mereka memiliki daya juang yang kurang dan mudah menyerah. | |||||||||
