Abstract

This research is a preliminary study with the ultimate goal of increasing the management efficiency and conservation of sente germplasm in Karang Tanjung District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten. This study aims to determine the morphological characteristics and diversity of sente germplasm observed in Karang Tanjung District. The research was conducted in several villagesin Karang Tanjung District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, namely Juhut, Pagadungan and Cigadung from December to February 2023. The research used an exploratory method by directly identifying the morphological characters of sente, including plant habit, leaf and petiole characters. Data were analyzed using cluster analysis and Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The results showed that in Karang Tanjung District there were 28 accessions with a narrow diversity of morphological characters and there were 2 types of sente in it, consisted of green sente and black sente. The relevant characters of the identified variability i.e length petiole, the color of the upper, middle and lower third of the petiole, the color of the joints of the petiole, the color of the upper and lower veins, the color of the upper and lower leaf blades.

Additional Information:	Penelitian ini merupakan studi pendahuluan dengan tujuan akhir meningkatkan efisiensi pengelolaan dan konservasi plasma nutfah sente di Kecamatan Karang Tanjung Kabupaten Pandeglang Banten. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik morfologi dan keragaman plasma nutfah sente yang diamati di Kecamatan Karang Tanjung. Penelitian dilakukan di beberapa desa di Kecamatan Karang Tanjung, Kabupaten Pandeglang, Banten yaitu Juhut, Pagadungan dan Cigadung pada bulan Desember 2022 sampai Februari 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksploratif dengan mengidentifikasi secara langsung karakter morfologi sente yang meliputi karakter habitus tumbuhan, daun dan tangkai daun. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis cluster dan Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di Kecamatan Karang Tanjung terdapat 28 aksesi dengan keragaman karakter morfologi yang sempit dan terdapat 2 jenis sente di dalamnya, terdiri dari sente hijau dan sente hitam. Karakter relevan dari variabilitas yang teridentifikasi yaitu panjang petiol, warna petiol sepertiga atas, tengah dan bawah, warna persimpangan tangkai daun, warna tulang daun atas dan bawah, warna helai daun atas dan bawah.
