Abstract
The straight bevel gear transmission system is used to continue the rotation of the translational and rotational generators. The purpose of this study was to determine the surface roughness of the results of the machining process, determine the natural frequency and determine the effect of variations in the ratio of 1:5 and 1:8 on the straight bevel gear on the generator translation and rotation. The 1:5 ratio consists of a 10-tooth pinion and 50-tooth gear and for 1:8 consists of an 18-tooth pinion and 144-tooth gear. The method used in this research is the experimental method. At a ratio of 1:5 and 1:8 the smoothest surface roughness value is obtained in the top lane, which is equal to 0.4 μm or N5 from the results of the lathe machining process. Meanwhile, from the results of the milling machining process, there are differences in the two ratio variations in the face, flank and bottom land sections, at a ratio of 1:5 and 1:8, 1.6 μm or N7 and 0.8 μm or N6 are obtained. From the results of testing the natural frequency for pinion 10 and 18 teeth, it was obtained 5,812 Hz and 6,469 Hz. As for gear 50 and 144 teeth, 9281 Hz and 5,672 Hz are obtained. For performance test results, the ratio of 1:5 is the most optimum with a maximum rotational speed of 229 rpm and a voltage of 127 volts. As for the 1:8 ratio variation, the maximum rotation is 184 rpm with a voltage of 82 Volts.

Additional Information: | Sistem transmisi straight bevel gear digunakan untuk meneruskan putaran pada generator translasi dan rotasi. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kekasaran permukaan dari hasil proses pemesinan, mengetahui frekuensi natural dan mengetahui pengaruh dari variasi rasio 1:5 dan 1:8 pada straight bevel gear terhadap generator translasi dan rotasi. Rasio 1:5 terdiri dari pinion 10 gigi dan gear 50 gigi dan untuk 1:8 terdiri dari pinion 18 gigi dan gear 144 gigi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian in adalah metode eksperimen. Pada rasio 1:5 dan 1:8 nilai kekasaran permukaan terhalus didapat pada bagian top lane yaitu sebesar 0,4 μmRa atau N5 dari hasil proses pemesinan bubut. Sedangkan dari hasil proses pemesinan frais terdapat perbedaan pada kedua variasi rasio dibagian face, falnk dan bottom land, pada rasio 1:5 dan 1:8 didapat 1,6 μmRa atau N7 serta 0,8 μmRa atau N6. Dari hasil pengujian frekuensi natural untuk pinion 10 dan 18 gigi didapat 5.812 Hz dan 6.469 Hz. Sedangkan untuk gear 50 dan 144 gigi didapat 9281 Hz dan 5.672 Hz. Untuk hasil pengujian kinerja rasio 1:5 menjadi yang paling optimum dengan kecepatan putar maksimum 229 rpm dengan tegangan 127 volt. Sedangkan untuk variasi rasio 1:8 didapat putaran maksimum sebesar 184 rpm dengan tegangan 82 Volt. | |||||||||
