Abstract
The objective of the research was to investigate the effectiveness of using “wordwall.net” media towards students’ vocabulary mastery at students of the eight grades of SMP Terpadu Al-Qudwah. The subject of this research was divided into two classes that were chosen by a purposive sampling type of convenience sampling. This study used a quasi-experimental design. In collecting the data, a test was used. The test was given twice to experimental and control groups, as a pre-test and post-test. To verify the hypotheses of the pre-test and post-test of the experimental and control groups, the data were analyzed by using paired sample T-test. The result of the T-test showed that there were significant differences between those classes, and the result showed that sig. value (2-tailed) was lower than 0.05. It means the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. It showed the use of “Wordwall.net” media towards students’ vocabulary mastery in Junior high school students at Eight graders of SMP Terpadu Al-Qudwah is effective. This study suggests that wordwall.net is an effective media that can make students more enthusiastic about mastering vocabulary. It is recommended that teachers use wordwall.net media in helping students learn and enrich their vocabulary.

Additional Information: | Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan media “wordwall.net” terhadap penguasaan kosa kata siswa kelas delapan SMP Terpadu Al-Qudwah. Subyek penelitian ini dibagi menjadi dua kelas yang dipilih dengan cara purposive sampling jenis convenience sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi eksperimen. Dalam mengumpulkan data digunakan tes. Tes diberikan dua kali kepada kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol, sebagai pre-test dan post-test. Untuk memverifikasi hipotesis pre-test dan post-test dari kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol, data dianalisis dengan menggunakan sampel T-test berpasangan. Hasil uji T menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas-kelas tersebut, dan hasil menunjukkan bahwa sig. nilai (2-tailed) lebih rendah dari 0,05. Artinya hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Hal ini menunjukkan penggunaan media “Wordwall.net” terhadap penguasaan kosa kata siswa SMP kelas VIII SMP Terpadu Al-Qudwah efektif. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa wordwall.net merupakan media efektif yang dapat membuat siswa lebih bersemangat dalam menguasai kosa kata. Disarankan agar guru menggunakan media wordwall.net dalam membantu siswa belajar dan memperkaya kosa kata mereka. | |||||||||
