Abstract

The goal of this research is to obtain empirical data about the influence of TikTok application toward students' writing skills at SMAN 1 Sukaresmi. To achieve that goal, this research used a quasi-experimental design involving tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sukaresmi. The population used was 252 students. The sample consists of 36 students from experimental class and 36 students control class which are selected using purposively sampling. The results of the post-test revealed that the experimental class was a significantly higher score than the control class. In addition, the results of the Independent Sample T-Test revealed that the sig-2 tailed value was 0.00, while the alpha (a) was 0.05 which was 0.00<0.05. It means that Ha is Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Therefore it was proven that there is a significance influence of TikTok application toward students' writing skills in procedure text material at tenth grade of SMAN 1 Sukaresmi in the academic year 2022/2023. Thus, the use of Tiktok application as a learning medium is suggested toward students' writing skills in procedure text material.

Additional Information: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan data empiris tentang pengaruh aplikasi TikTok terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa di SMAN 1 Sukaresmi. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimen yang melibatkan siswa kelas sepuluh SMA Negeri 1 Sukaresmi. Populasi yang digunakan adalah 252 siswa. Sampel terdiri dari 36 siswa dari kelas eksperimen dan 36 siswa dari kelas kontrol yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Hasil post-test menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen memiliki nilai yang lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Selain itu, hasil uji Independent Sample T-Test menunjukkan bahwa nilai sig-2 tailed sebesar 0,00, sedangkan alpha (a) sebesar 0,05 yaitu 0,00 < 0,05. Hal ini berarti Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Oleh karena itu, terbukti bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari aplikasi Tiktok terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa pada materi teks prosedur di kelas sepuluh SMAN 1 Sukaresmi tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Dengan demikian, penggunaan aplikasi Tiktok sebagai media pembelajaran disarankan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa pada materi teks prosedur.
