Abstract

Sweet corn is a food crop that ranks third after wheat and rice. Corn production fell significantly in Banten. Along with increasing demand, it is necessary to develop better sweet corn cultivation techniques through fertilization. One of them is the use of organic chicken manure and eucalyptus waste compost. This research was conducted to determine the effect of composted chicken manure and eucalyptus waste on the growth and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays subsp. mays L). This research was conducted from December 2022 until March 2023. The experimental design used in this study was the Factorial RAK which consisted of two factors, namely chicken manure and eucalyptus waste compost. The first factor was chicken manure (T), consisting of two levels, namely 15 tons/ha (T1) and 20 tons/ha (T2). The second factor was the dose of eucalyptus waste compost (P), which consisted of three levels, namely 0 kg/ha (P0), 15 tons/ha (P1), and 30 tons/ha (P2). The results showed that the dose of chicken manure of 20 tons/ha given the best results in the vegetative phase of plant height (191.11 cm) and 20 tons/ha gave the best results in the generative phase of cob weight without husk (214.10 grams). In the other generative phases, a dose of 15 tons/ha of chicken manure gave the best results on cob length without husk (30.02 cm). There was an interaction between chicken manure compost and eucalyptus waste on leaf length 2 WAP and cob weight without cornhusk.

Additional Information: Jagung manis merupakan tanaman pangan yang menempati urutan ketiga setelah gandum dan padi. Produksi jagung turun signifikan di Banten. Seiring dengan meningkatnya permintaan, perlu dikembangkan teknik budidaya jagung manis yang lebih baik melalui pemupukan. Salah satunya adalah pemanfaatan pupuk kotoran ayam organik dan kompos limbah kayu putih. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pupuk kotoran ayam dan kompos limbah kayu putih terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung manis (Zea mays subsp. mays L). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2022 sampai Maret 2023. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah RAK Faktorial yang terdiri dari dua faktor yaitu pupuk kotoran ayam dan kompos limbah kayu putih. Faktor pertama adalah pupuk kotoran ayam (T) yang terdiri dari dua taraf yaitu 15 ton/ha (T1) dan 20 ton/ha (T2). Faktor kedua adalah dosis kompos limbah kayu putih (P) yang terdiri dari tiga taraf yaitu 0 kg/ha (P0), 15 ton/ha (P1), dan 30 ton/ha (P2). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis pupuk kotoran ayam 20 ton/ha memberikan hasil terbaik pada fase vegetatif tinggi tanaman (191,11 cm) dan 20 ton/ha memberikan hasil terbaik pada fase generatif bobot tongkol tanpa kelobot (214,10 gram). Pada fase generatif lainnya, dosis pupuk kotoran ayam 15 ton/ha memberikan hasil terbaik pada panjang tongkol tanpa kelobot (30,02 cm). Terdapat interaksi antara kompos kotoran ayam dan limbah kayu putih pada panjang daun 2 MST dan berat tongkol tanpa kelobot.
