Abstract

This study aims to assist students in improving discipline with group counseling services using self-control techniques at SMP IT Assalam Picung. This study uses a quantitative experimental method. The total population is 95 students with population characteristics aged 12-15 years in class VII, VIII, IX at SMP IT Assalam Picung for the 2022/2023 academic year. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and got 10 students who had a low level of discipline who were then given treatment. The analysis technique used in testing the hypothesis is the Wilcoxon signed ranks test. The results of the study were seen from the implementation of the pre-test and post-test, there was a significant increase from an average value of 30.2 to 63.10. Analysis of the Wilcoxon signed ranks test on the hypothesis decision making process, the value of .005 is lower than 0.05, so it can be concluded that the hypothesis is declared accepted. Thus Hₐ is accepted and H₀ is rejected. Based on statistical data, it can be concluded that cognitive behavioral therapy group counseling with self-control techniques is effective in increasing student discipline.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membantu siswa dalam meningkatkan disiplin dengan layanan konseling kelompok menggunakan teknik self-control di SMP IT Assalam Picung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen kuantitatif. Jumlah populasi sebanyak 95 siswa dengan karakteristik populasi berusia 12-15 tahun kelas VII, VIII, IX di SMP IT Assalam Picung tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dan mendapatkan 10 siswa yang memiliki tingkat disiplin rendah yang kemudian diberikan treatment. Teknik analisis yang digunakan dalam pengujian hipotesis yaitu wilcoxon signed ranks test. Hasil penelitian dilihat dari pelaksanaakn pre-test dan post-test adanya peningkatan secara signifikan dari nilai rata-rata sebesar 30,2 menjadi 63,10. Analisis uji wilcoxon signed ranks test pada proses pengambilan keputusan hipotesis, nilai ,005 lebih rendah dari pada 0,05, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis dinyatakan diterima. Dengan demikian Hₐ diterima dan H₀ ditolak. Secara data statistik dapat disimpulkan konseling kelompok cognitive behavioral therapy dengan teknik self-control efektiv dalam meningkatkan disiplin siswa.
