Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze learning motivation and creativity in solving mathematical problems among students using the Learning Cycle 5E model. This research is a qualitative descriptive study involving 30 students. Data was collected through the use of motivation questionnaires and creativity tests for students in solving mathematical problems. The motivation questionnaire was administered during the learning process to evaluate the level of students' learning motivation using the five-phase learning cycle (5E) model, with an average motivation questionnaire score categorized as good. To measure students' creativity in problem-solving, this study employed tests with open-ended questions that allowed for various possible answers from students. The summary of test results showed that 46.7% exhibited high creativity, 30% displayed moderate creativity, and 23.3% had low creativity. Therefore, the analysis indicates that the Learning Cycle 5E model is effective in enhancing motivation and creativity in learning mathematics

Additional Information: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis motivasi belajar dan kreativitas dalam memecahkan masalah matematika pada siswa menggunakan model Learning Cycle 5E. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskripsi yang melibatkan 30 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui penggunaan angket motivasi dan tes kreativitas siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika. Angket motivasi diberikan selama proses pembelajaran untuk mengevaluasi tingkat motivasi belajar siswa menggunakan model siklus belajar lima fase (5E), dengan hasil rata-rata angket motivasi yang dikategorikan baik. Untuk mengukur kreativitas siswa dalam memecahkan masalah, penelitian ini menggunakan tes dengan pertanyaan terbuka yang memungkinkan adanya berbagai kemungkinan jawaban dari siswa. Hasil rekapitulasi hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa 46,7% dengan kreativitas yang tinggi, 30% siswa dengan kreativitas sedang dan 23,3% siswa yang memiliki kreativitas rendah. Dengan demikian, analisis tersebut menunjukkan bahwa model Learning Cycle 5E efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan kreativitas belajar matematika.
