Abstract
This study entitled the influence of pictorial flashcards toward students' speaking skills of eighth grade at MTS Daarul Ahsan. This study aimed to determine whether students would have an influence on their speaking skills after learning using Pictorial Flashcards media. This research used quantitative research and quasi�experimental methods as the research design. In order to get the answers whether there is an influence on students' speaking ability by applying Pictorial Flashcards in learning activities, the researchers conducted observations and interviews with students and teachers. Researchers found 3 problems experienced by students when learning English. The problems were: students find some difficulties when the teacher explains the material in English, students lack vocabulary, and students are less enthusiastic. Therefore, the researcher conducted research using pictorial Flashcards to find out whether by using these media the students would be affected in their speaking ability. To ensure this, the researcher conducted tests and treatments for two classes which were divided into two parts, namely the experimental class (with Pictorial Flashcards media), and the control class (without Pictorial Flashcards media). The results of the study, the researchers found that there was an influence on students' speaking skills when using Pictorial Flashcards media in teaching and learning English activities. Additional Information: | Penelitian ini berjudul pengaruh flashcards bergambar terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas delapan di MTS Daarul Ahsan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah siswa akan memiliki pengaruh terhadap keterampilan berbicara mereka setelah pembelajaran menggunakan media Pictorial Flashcards. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dan metode quasi�experimental sebagai desain penelitian. Untuk mendapatkan jawaban apakah ada pengaruh terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa dengan menerapkan Pictorial Flashcards dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, peneliti melakukan observasi dan wawancara dengan siswa dan guru. Peneliti menemukan 3 masalah yang dialami siswa saat belajar bahasa Inggris. Permasalahannya adalah: siswa menemukan beberapa kesulitan ketika guru menjelaskan materi dalam bahasa Inggris, siswa kurang kosa kata, dan siswa kurang antusias. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan Flashcards bergambar untuk mengetahui apakah dengan menggunakan media ini siswa akan terpengaruh dalam kemampuan berbicara mereka. Untuk memastikan hal tersebut peneliti melakukan tes dan perlakuan terhadap dua kelas yang dibagi menjadi dua bagian yaitu kelas eksperimen (dengan media Pictorial Flashcards), dan kelas kontrol (tanpa media Pictorial Flashcards). Hasil penelitian, peneliti menemukan bahwa ada pengaruh terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa saat menggunakan media Pictorial Flashcards dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar bahasa Inggris. | |||||||||
