Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the factors and causes of the non-achievement of competence in the practice of operating lathes for class XII students of SMK in Serang City. The method used in this research is phenomenology with a qualitative approach to analyze the causes. The number of students at SMKN 1 Ciruas is 33 students, SMKN 2 Kota Serang is 40 students, SMKN 4 Kota Serang is 35 students, SMK 2 Pasundan is 30 students, SMK 2 PGRI Kota Serang is 31 students. The data collection technique used the triangulation method, a combination technique of interviews, observation, and documentation and the subjects interviewed were class 12 lathe engineering subject teachers from the 5 schools earlier. Data analysis techniques were carried out using the Nvivo12 pro application as validity data and references from books and journals as reliability data. The results obtained are the factor of the non-achievement of the competency of operating lathes for students in class XII is the factor of facilities and infrastructure with the theme the number of lathes is not ideal so that this makes competency achievements in the practical subject of operating lathes at SMK in Serang City competence not be achieved.

Additional Information:	Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui faktor dan penyebab dari ketidaktercapaian kompetensi praktik pengoperasian mesin bubut siswa kelas XII SMK di Kota Serang. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah fenomenologi dengan pendekatan kualitatif untuk menganalisis penyebabnya. Jumlah Siswa di SMKN 1 Ciruas 33 siswa, SMKN 2 Kota Serang 40 siswa, SMKN 4 Kota Serang 35 siswa, SMK 2 Pasundan 30 siswa, SMK 2 PGRI Kota Serang 31 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode triangulasi teknik gabungan antara wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi dan subjek yang diwawancarai adalah guru mata pelajaran teknik permesinan bubut kelas 12 dari 5 sekolah tadi. Teknik analisis data ditentukan menggunakan aplikasi Nvivo12 pro sebagai data validitas dan referensi dari buku dan jurnal sebagai data reabilitasnya. Hasil yang didapat adalah faktor dari ketidatercapaian kompetensi pengoperasian mesin bubut siswa pada kelas XII adalah faktor dari sarana dan prasarana dengan tema jumlah mesin bubut tidak ideal sehingga hal tersebut membuat capaian kompetensi mata pelajaran praktik pengoperasian mesin bubut SMK di Kota Serang tidak tercapai kompetensinya.
