Abstract
This research is motivated by the learning process in schools that aims to foster students' critical thinking skills that have not been fully implemented optimally. Students' critical thinking skills can be trained with the HOTS test instrument.The purpose of this study was to analyze the validity level of the HOTS test instrument on the theme of packaged food to foster junior high school students' critical thinking skills. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg & Gall model which is limited to the potential and problem stages, data collection, product design, design validation, and design revision. The subjects of this research are material experts, evaluation experts, and practitioner experts. The type of data used in this study is a validation questionnaire sheet. This research produced a prototype in the form of 30 open-ended essay questions of the HOTS type. In terms of the overall assessment of the experts, the prototype developed obtained a validity level of 87,64% so that it can be concluded that the HOTS test instrument on the theme of packaged food is categorized as "Very Valid".

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh proses pembelajaran di sekolah yang bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa belum sepenuhnya terlaksana secara maksimal. Kemampuan berpikir ktitis siswa dapat dilatih dengan instrument tes HOTS. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis tingkat kevalidan instrumen tes HOTS pada tema makanan kemasan untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model Borg & Gall yang dibatasi menjadi tahap potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, dan revisi desain. Subjek penelitian ini adalah ahli materi, ahli evaluasi, dan ahli praktisi. Jenis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah lembar angket validasi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan prototype berupa 30 butir soal essai terbuka bertipe HOTS. Ditinjau secara keseluruhan penilaian dari para ahli, prototype yang dikembangkan memperoleh tingkat kevalidan sebesar 87,64% sehingga dapat disimpulkan instrumen tes HOTS pada tema makanan kemasan dikategorikan “Sangat Valid”. | |||||||||
