Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of barber training for prisoners at Class 1 LAPAS Cipinang, East Jakarta. The method applied in this study is descriptive qualitative with a data collection approach through the use of instrument grids, observation guides, interview guides and documentation This study aims to answer questions regarding the effectiveness of the training, the results of increasing the life skills of convicts, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the training. Based on the results of the research, it isknown that the barbering training at Cipinang Class 1 Prison consists of three interrelated phases, namely the planning, implementation and evaluation stages. This training was successful in increasing prisoners' life competence in three important dimensions, namely cognitive, affective and psychomotor. Prisoners who take part in this training can develop their barberingskills and even open a barbershop in LAPAS. The implementation of the training is supported by tutors/instructors who are certified and experienced in the barbering industry, which makes it easier for participants to receive training materials. However, there are inhibiting factors such as the lack of facilities and infrastructure. The tools and equipment needed in the training are still not enough to meet the needs of the participants, so the practicum process must be carried out alternately. This study concludes that barber training is effective in improving the life skills of inmates at Cipinang Class 1 Correctional Institution. The recommendation of this research isto improve adequate facilities and equipment to support more effective training in the future.

Additional Information:	Penelitian ini mengevaluasi efektivitas pelatihan pangkas rambut bagi narapidana di LAPAS Kelas 1 Cipinang Jakarta Timur. Metode yang diterapkan didalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan pengumpulan data melalui penggunaan kisi-kisi instrument, panduan observasi, panduan wawancara serta dokumentasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab pertanyaan mengenai efektivitas pelatihan, hasil peningkatan kecakapan hidup narapidana, serta faktor pendukung dan penghambat pelaksanaan pelatihan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa pelatihan pangkas rambut di Lapas Kelas 1 Cipinang terdiri dari tiga fase yang saling terkait, yakni tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Pelatihan ini sukses meningkatkan kompetensi kehidupan narapidana dalam tiga dimensi penting, yaitu kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik. Narapidana yang mengikuti pelatihan ini dapat mengembangkan keterampilan pangkas rambut dan bahkan membuka jasa pangkas rambut di dalam LAPAS. Pelaksanaan pelatihan didukung oleh tutor/instruktur yang telah bersertifikasi dan berpengalaman di bidang pangkas rambut, yang memudahkan peserta dalam menerima materi pelatihan. Namun, terdapat faktor penghambat seperti kurangnya bagian sarana dan prasarana. Alat-alat dan perlengkapan yang dibutuhkan dalam pelatihan masih belum cukup memenuhi kebutuhan peserta, sehingga proses praktikum harus dilakukan secara bergantian. penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pelatihan pangkas rambut efektif dalam meningkatkan kecakapan hidup narapidana di LAPAS Kelas 1 Cipinang. Rekomendasi penelitian ini adalah peningkatan fasilitas dan perlengkapan yang memadai guna mendukung pelatihan yang lebih efektif di masa depan.
