Abstract
ABSTRACT Monica Noviola. NIM 6662190038. Thesis. Framing of the Brigadier Yoshua Shooting Case (Robert N.Entman Framing Analysis of Kompas.com and Tempo.co News for the Period August 06 - 09, 2022). The First advisor is Dr. Mia Dwianna, M. Si and The Second advisor is Darwis Sagita, M.I.Kom This research discusses the framing of online media on the shooting case of Brigadier Yoshua which became a headline in various media in mid-2022. This case has a high news value because of the criminal actions of the Police agency and the role of Ferdy Sambo with the position of Inspector General. This study aims to determine the framing of online media Kompas.com and Tempo.co in the reporting of the murder case of Brigadier Yoshua. In this research, the mass media used are online media, namely Kompas.com and Tempo.co. This research uses Social Reality Construction Theory and Media Political Economy with Robert N. Entman's Framing Analysis method. The paradigm used in this research uses a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative approach. The results of this study show that the framing carried out by Kompas.com emphasizes the lack of ethical enforcement and accountability in the police and the controversial decision to name a suspect that has potential implications for police professionalism and ethical behavior. Kompas gave appreciation to the investigators and personnel involved in the case. Tempo.co highlighted the arrest of former Police Propam Chief Inspector General Ferdy Sambo in the criminal case that led to the death of Brigadier Yoshua. The scenario of Brigadier Yoshua's death was revealed due to media coverage and the involvement of NGOs. I.Kom dan Pembimbing II Darwis Sagita, M.I.Kom Penelitian ini membahas mengenai framing media daring pada kasus penembakan Brigadir Yoshua yang menjadi headline di berbagai media pada pertengahan tahun 2022. Kasus ini memiliki nilai berita yang tinggi karena adanya tindakan kriminal dari instansi Polri serta peran Ferdy Sambo dengan jabatan Inspektur Jendral. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui framing media online Kompas.com dan Tempo.co dalam pemberitaan kasus pembunuhan Brigadir Yoshua. Dalam penelitian ini, media massa yang digunakan adalah media online yaitu Kompas.com dan Tempo.co. Penelitian ini menggunakan Teori Konstruksi Realitas Sosial dan Ekonomi Politik Media dengan metode Analisis Framing Robert N. Entman. Paradigma yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Framing yang dilakukan oleh Kompas.com menekankan kurangnya penegakan etika dan akuntabilitas di kepolisian dan keputusan kontroversial untuk menetapkan seorang tersangka yang memiliki potensi implikasi terhadap profesionalisme dan perilaku etis polisi. Kompas memberikan apresiasi terhadap penyidik dan personel yang terlibat dalam kasus tersebut. Tempo.co menonjolkan peristiwa penangkapan mantan Kadiv Propam Polri Irjen Pol Ferdy Sambo dalam kasus kriminal yang menyebabkan kematian Brigadir Yoshua. Terungkapnya Skenario kematian Brigadir Yoshua karena adanya liputan media dan keterlibatan LSM. Tempo menekankan bahwa, kasus ini menimbulkan kekhawatiran tentang bagaimana investigasi ditangani oleh polisi. Kata kunci: analisis framing, media online, Robert N.
