Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of observations and interviews in the electrical engineering vocational laboratory which carry out their routine activities, namely practicum, the limited media and time used make the distribution of competencies less than optimal. This study aims to: (1) Know the stages of developing and designing a power electronics trainer. (2) Knowing the feasibility test of a power electronics trainer in terms of media experts and material experts as a tool in power electronics courses. (3) Knowing student responses regarding power electronics trainers as learning media in power electronics courses. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study with a Four-D model (Define, Design, Development, Dissemination). The subjects of this study were 2 expert lecturers, 2 electronics teachers, 1 electrical technician and electrical engineering vocational education students who had carried out power electronics practices. The object of this research is a power electronics trainer learning media. The instruments used in assessing the feasibility of this trainer were in the form of a feasibility sheet by medical experts, a feasibility sheet by material experts, and a student response questionnaire on using the trainer.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil observasi dan wawancara dilaboratorium vokasional teknik elektro yang menjalankan kegiatan rutinitasnya yaitu praktikum, keterbatasan media dan waktu yang digunakan membuat penyaluran kompetensi menjadi kurang maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengetahui tahapan pengembangan dan perancangan trainer elektronika daya. (2) Mengetahui uji tingkat kelayakan trainer elektronika daya 3 fasa yang ditinjau dari ahli media dan ahli materi sebagai alat bantu dalam mata kuliah elektronika daya. (3) Mengetahui tanggapan mahasiswa mengenai trainer elektronika daya sebagai media pembelajaran pada mata kuliah elektronika daya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development (R&D) dengan model Four-D (Define, Design, Development, Dissemination). Subjek penelitian ini 2 dosen ahli, 2 guru elektronika, 1 teknisi kelistrikan dan mahasiswa pendidikan vokasional teknik elektro yang telah melaksanakan praktik elektronika daya. Objek penelitian ini berupa media pembelajaran trainer elektronika daya. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam menilai kelayakan trainer ini berupa lembar kelayakan oleh ahli medi, lembar kelayakan oleh ahli materi, dan kuesioner respon mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan trainer.
