Abstract

Students of the food crop and horticulture agribusiness study program as students educated in agriculture are expected to have good perceptions and interest in the agricultural sector and are expected to be able to make a major contribution to agricultural development. This study aims to determine: 1) Students' perceptions 2) Students' interests 3) Is there a relationship between perceptions and the interests of students of the Food Crops and Horticulture Agribusiness Study Program SMKN 2 Tangerang Regency towards the farming profession. In this study, sampling was carried out using Proportional Random Sampling Technique (stratified random sample). Respondents from class 2020 to 2022 are 73 students. Data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis and Spearman Rank correlation. The results showed that 61.6% of students' perceptions were in the very high category, and 67.1% of the students' interest was in the very high category. There is a very real positive relationship between perceptions and interest in agriculture. This positive relationship states that the higher the perception of students, the higher their interest in the farming profession.
