Abstract

There are several core topics in chemistry that require students to have the ability to represent concepts at the macroscopic, sub-microscopic, and symbolic levels. One of these topics is the study of molecular shapes. Due to this challenge, chemistry lessons are often perceived as difficult by some students. This research aims to develop an augmented reality application for the Android platform focusing on the topic of molecular shapes. The objectives are to test the feasibility of the developed application and describe student evaluations of the augmented reality application. The result of this research is an augmented reality application for Android operating systems that focuses on the topic of molecular shapes. The research and development process employed the Research & Development method using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluate. This study produced a valid augmented reality application based on Android for the topic of molecular shapes, with a feasibility percentage of 96%. These results indicate that the application can be used to enhance students' learning interest.

Additional Information: Ada beberapa materi pokok dalam ilmu kimia yang membutuhkan siswa untuk memiliki kemampuan dalam merepresentasikan konsep pada level makroskopik, sub-mikroskopik, dan simbolik. Salah satunya adalah ketika mempelajari bentuk molekul. Karena tantangan ini, pelajaran kimia sering dianggap sulit oleh sebagian siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasil aplikasi augmented reality pada platform android terhadap materi bentuk molekuk, menguji kelayakan aplikasi yang dihasilkan, dan mendeskrisipkan penilaian siswa terhadap aplikasi augmented reality . Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah aplikasi augmented reality dengen sistem operasi android terhadap materi bentuk molekul. Penelitian dan pengembangan dilakukan menggunakan metode Research & Development dengan model ADDIE yang mempunyai 5 tahap Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluate. Penelitian ini menghasilkan aplikasi augmented reality berbasis android terhadap materi bentuk molekul yang valid dengan presentase kelayakan 96%. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi ini dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa.
