Abstract

Every year as the world's population increases, land is getting full and not enough to be used in agriculture. Various types of technological developments have been utilised to grow crops. The purpose of this research is to design a smart farming system by planting without soil and utilising technological advances in the city of Cilegon. Smart farming is a technology in agriculture with the Internet of Things (IoT) to help farmers get data information from the garden. Hydroponics is soil-less farming that uses minerals or fertilisers dissolved in water. Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) is one of the hydroponic methods using a thin layer on the flow of nutrients through pipe installations. Pumps that require continuous electrical power can utilise solar power plants as an energy source. Off-grid PLTS can produce electrical energy according to the required power without being connected to the PLN electricity network. The design of the smart farming system uses several supporting sensors, namely nutrient sensors and PH sensors, and automatic solution pumps, PZEM-004T sensors, and data loggers connected to an internet connection in the Thinger.io monitoring platform. The results of this research show that the smart farming system can monitor nutrient and PH solution levels, the automatic pump controls a stable solution, and the power sourced from PLTS can supply the pump properly.

Additional Information: Setiap tahun dunia mengalami pertambahan penduduk, lahan semakin penuh dan tidak cukup digunakan dalam bidang pertanian. Berbagai jenis perkembangan teknologi sudah dimanfaatkan untuk bercocok tanam. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu merancang sistem smart farming dengan menanam tanpa tanah serta memanfaatkan kemajuan teknologi di kota Cilegon. Smart farming merupakan teknologi dalam bidang pertanian dengan Internet of Things (IoT) untuk membantu petani mendapatkan informasi data dari kebun. Hidroponik adalah bercocok tanam tanpa tanah yang menggunakan mineral atau pupuk yang dilarutkan dalam air. Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) salah satu metode hidroponik menggunakan lapisan tipis pada aliran nutrisi melalui instalasi pipa. Pompa yang yang membutuhkan daya listrik secara terus menerus dapat memanfaatkan PLTS sebagai sumber energi. PLTS off-grid dapat menghasilkan energi listrik sesuai dengan daya yang dibutuhkan tanpa terhubung jaringan listrik PLN. Perancangan sistem smart farming menggunakan beberapa sensor pendukung yaitu sensor nutrisi dan sensor PH, dan pompa pemberi larutan otomatis, sensor PZEM-004T, dan data logger yang terhubung koneksi internet dalam pemantauan platform Thinger.io. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem smart farming dapat memantau kadar larutan nutrisi dan PH, pompa otomatis mengendalikan larutan yang stabil, dan daya yang bersumber dari PLTS dapat menyuplai pompa dengan baik.
