Abstract

This study investigated the habitat preference and distribution patterns of the house gecko (Gekko gecko) in Lebak Regency, Banten Province. Surveys were conducted from November to December 2021 using purposive sampling to determine data collection locations. Data was collected through visual encounter surveys and interviews with local residents, and analyzed using the Neu Index and Morisita Index equations. Results showed that the highest habitat preference was found in Kaso Kandang Village with a value of 2.97, while the lowest was found in Pasir Kuntul Village with a value of 0.37. Moreover, the distribution pattern of house gecko at points of location was clumped pattern with the value of Standardized Morisita Index is 0.55 (Ip > 0). These results suggest that the house geckos habitat preferences can be seen from the conditions of the surrounding habitat. Furthermore, the distribution pattern of the house gecko affected by intraspecific and interspecific interactions. Then, this study provides a premilinary investigation into the habitat preference habitat and distribution patterns of reptiles in Lebak Regency Banten Province. It can also serve as a learning resource for enriching knowledge of reptiles within the Animalia Kingdom concept for grade X students

Additional Information:	Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui preferensi habitat dan pola sebaran dari tokek rumah (Gekko gecko) di Kabupaten Lebak, Provinsi Banten. Survei dilakukan pada bulan November hingga Desember 2021. Metode purposive sampling digunakan untuk menentukan lokasi pengumpulan data. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan visual encounter survey dan wawancara terhadap warga sekitar lokasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan persamaan Indeks Neu serta Indeks Morisita. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa tingkat preferensi habitat tertinggi berada pada Kampung Kaso Kandang dengan nilai 2,97 sedangkan tingkat preferensi habitat terendah terletak pada Kampung Pasir Kuntul dengan nilai 0,37. Kemudian, pola sebaran tokek rumah pada titik lokasi pengamatan memiliki pola sebaran mengelompok dengan nilai indeks morisita terstandarisasi sebesar 0,55 (Ip > 0). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa preferensi habitat tokek rumah dapat dilihat dari kondisi habitat sekitarnya. Lebih lanjut, pola sebaran tokek rumah dapat dipengaruhi dari interaksi intraspesifik dan interspesifik. Kemudian, penelitian ini dapat dijadikan studi awal dalam mengetahui kehidupan salah satu dari jenis reptil yang terdapat di wilayah Kabupaten Lebak Provinsi Banten. Penelitian ini berpotensi untuk dijadikan sebagai sumber belajar yang dapat direkomendasikan sebagai pengayaan pengetahuan pada pembelajaran sub-materi kelas reptil pada Kingdom Animalia kelas X.
