Abstract
The demands of the 21st century make students must have 4C skills, one of which is communication skills. This study aims to analyze how the influence of the think talk write learning model has on the communication skills of class VII students on the theme of environmental pollution which is carried out at one of the SMPN Kota Bekasi for the 2022/2023 academic year. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental method with a pretest posttest nonequivalent control group design. The sample in this study were 60 students consisting of 30 students in the experimental class and control class respectively. Data collection techniques used are tests and observations. Based on the results of the research, it shows that the think talk write learning model influences students' communication skills, seen from the Mann-Whitney test which is carried out with a probability value (sig) 0.00 <0.05 with strong effect on effect size test. In addition, the gain index value of the experimental class showed higher results, namely 61% in the moderately effective category, while the gain index value for the control class was currently lower, namely 41%, in the less effective category. In this case it can be shown that the think talk write learning model is more effective in providing an increase in students' communication skills.

Additional Information: | Tuntutan abad 21 membuat siswa harus memiliki keterampilan 4C yang salah satunya adalah keterampilan komunikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana pengaruh model pembelajaran think talk write terhadap keterampilan komunikasi siswa kelas VII pada tema pencemaran lingkungan yang dilakukan di salah satu SMPN Kota Bekasi tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode quasi experiment dengan desain penelitian jenis pretest posttest nonequivalent control design group. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 60 siswa yang terdiri dari masing-masing 30 siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes dan observasi. Berdasarkan hasil pada penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran think talk write berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan komunikasi siswa, dilihat dari uji Mann-Whitney yang dilakukan dengan nilai probabilitas (sig) 0,00 < 0,05 dengan pengaruh yang besar pada uji effect size. Selain itu, nilai presentase indeks gain kelas eksperimen menunjukkan hasil yang lebih tinggi yaitu 61% dengan kategori cukup efektif sementara nilai presentase indeks gain kelas kontrol lebih rendah yaitu 41% dengan kategori kurang efektif. Dalam hal ini dapat menunjukkan model pembelajaran think talk write lebih efektif memberikan peningkatan terhadap keterampilan komunikasi siswa. | |||||||||
