Abstract

This research aimed to find out the feasibility of learning resource in the form of biology learning magazine through SETS (Science, Environment, Technology and Society) approach towards the sub-concept plant-like protists (macroalgae) as a learning source for the students of class X. The research methodology applied was R&D (Research and Development) method and also used the model of 4D (Analysis-Design-Development-Implementation-Evaluate). The research was conducted only up to the stage of Development and is divided into several stages, namely, needs assessment, draft, early product development, validation expert, and revision. The technique used for processing the data was by likert scale. The product research result is in the form of learning resource i.e. printed magazine entitled "AlgaeMagz". The magazine product tailored to the curricullum of 2013 with a spiritual attitude, strengthening of social attitudes, knowledge, and skills, also implemented with SETS approach. The feasibility of the magazine as a learning resource has percentage of value with 81,36 with a very worthy category. Based on the results of research magazine AlgaeMagz is well worth to be continued to the next research phase in the limited and field test.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan sumber belajar berupa majalah pembelajaran biologi dengan pendekatan SETS (Science, Environment, Technology and Society) pada subkonsep protista mirip tumbuhan (makroalga) sebagai sumber belajar siswa kelas X. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode R&D (Research and Development) dan menggunakan model 4D (Analysis-Design-Development-Implementation-Evaluate). Penelitian dilakukan hanya sampai tahap Development dan dibagi menjadi beberapa tahapan, yaitu analisis kebutuhan, membuat rancangan, pengembangan produk awal, validasi ahli, dan revisi. Teknik pengolahan data dengan menggunakan skala likert. Produk hasil penelitian berupa sumber belajar cetak yaitu majalah dengan judul “AlgaeMagz”. Produk majalah disesuaikan dengan kurikulum 2013 dengan penguatan sikap spiritual, sikap sosial, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan serta diimpelementasikan dengan pendekatan SETS. Kelayakan majalah sebagai sumber belajar memiliki persentase nilai 81,36 dengan kategori sangat layak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, majalah AlgaeMagz sangat layak untuk dilanjutkan ke tahap penelitian selanjutnya dalam uji terbatas dan uji lapangan.
