Abstract

This research is motivated by the loss of student motivation when carrying out the science learning process at school due to the limited learning media used in the learning process. This study aims to find out how the level of validity of digital comic media based on discovery learning on the theme "excursion to the solar system" to foster junior high school students' learning motivation. The research method used is R&D with a 4-D model (Thiagarajan et al, 1974) and is only limited to the development stage. The instrument used is a validation questionnaire sheet for material experts, media, and practitioners. Data analysis used quantitative and qualitative research. The product made is in the form of digital comic media based on discovery learning with a validity level of 98.74% which is included in the "very valid" category so that the product that has been developed can be continued at the next stage.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hilangnya motivasi siswa ketika melakukan proses pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dikarenakan terbatasnya media pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana tingkat kevalidan dari media komik digital berbasis discovery learning pada tema “bertamasya ke tata surya” untuk menumbuhkan motivasi belajar siswa SMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan berupa R&D dengan model 4-D (Thiagarajan dkk, 1974) dan hanya terbatas sampai tahapan development. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar angket validasi untuk ahli materi, media, dan praktisi. Analisis data menggunakan penelitian yang bersifat kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Produk yang dibuat berupa media komik digital berbasis discovery learning dengan tingkat kevalidan sebesar 98.74% yang termasuk ke dalam kategori “sangat valid” sehingga produk yang telah di kembangkan dapat dilanjutkan pada tahapan selanjutnya.
