Abstract

This research is motivated by the researcher's desire to find out the social phenomena of women workers in the industrial world in Cipocok Jaya district, with a case study of workers at PT. EDS Manufacturing Indonesia. The company is an industrial company that is in great demand by the public. The sub-problems in this study are: how is the social phenomenon of female workers at PT. EDS Manufacturing Indonesia (PEMI), while the objectives of this study were: to find out the social phenomenon of female workers in PEMI companies in the Cipocok Jaya sub-district. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques using observation, interview techniques, and documentation as support. The informant research subjects consisted of five key informants who were permanent employees, two supporting informants from the company, and one supporting informant from the community point of view. Informants also have predetermined criteria, namely those who live in the Cipocok Jaya sub-district, and work at PT. EDS Manufacturing Indonesia (PEMI) The results of the study show that the economy is an important highlight for the community, by improving the economy, people's welfare can be realized. Besides that, there are several factors for the occurrence of social phenomena towards women. The first is the adaptation factor, the community environment can influence behavior, attitude, and mindset towards individuals. Second, namely the goals (attainment) factor, achievements that can already be realized such as having their own income, and the family's economy getting better is one of the factors of social behavior in society. Third, the integration factor or relationship to certain parts such as maintaining relationships with work partners, because it can affect the production output produced, individuals are able to maintain the best possible relationship with the work environment. Fourth, namely latent factors or maintaining good relations with the work environment and giving good influence or good motivation to work partners, the company environment, and the community, especially women who have graduated from school with the aim of working.

Additional Information:	Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh keinginan peneliti untuk mengetahui fenomena sosial pekerja perempuan dalam dunia industri di kecamatan Cipocok Jaya, dengan studi kasus pekerja PT. EDS Manufacturing Indonesia. Perusahaan tersebut merupakan perusahaan industri yang banyak diminati masyarakat. Sub masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah: bagaimana fenomena sosial pekerja perempuan PT. EDS Manufacturing Indonesia (PEMI), sedangkan tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah: untuk mengetahui fenomena sosial pekerja perempuan di perusahaan PEMI pada lingkup kecamatan Cipocok Jaya. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, teknik wawancara, dan dokumentasi sebagai pendukung. Subjek penelitian informan terdiri dari lima orang informan inti yang merupakan karyawan tetap, dua informan pendukung dari pihak perusahaan, serta satu informan pendukung dalam sudut pandang masyarakat. Informan juga memiliki kriteria yang telah ditentukan yaitu yang bertempat tinggal di kecamatan Cipocok Jaya, serta bekerja di PT. EDS Manufacturing Indonesia (PEMI) Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perekonomian yang menjadi sorotan penting bagi masyarakat, dengan memperbaiki perekonomian maka kesejahteraan masyarakat dapat terwujud. Selain itu pula terjadinya fenomena sosial terhadap perempuan terdapat beberapa faktor. Pertama yaitu faktor adaptasi, lingkungan masyarakat dapat mempengaruhi perilaku, attitude, serta pola pikir terhadap individu. Kedua, yaitu faktor goals (pencapaian), pencapaian yang sudah bisa terwujud seperti sudah memiliki penghasilan sendiri, dan perekonomian keluarga semakin membaik menjadi salah satu faktor perilaku sosial di dalam masyarakat. Ketiga, yaitu faktor integration atau hubungan pada bagian tertentu seperti menjaga hubungan dengan partner kerja, karena dapat mempengaruhi output produksi yang dihasilkan, individu mampu memelihara hubungan sebaik-baiknya dengan lingkungan pekerjaan. Keempat, yaitu faktor latent atau pemeliharaan hubungan baik dengan lingkungan kerja serta memberikan pengaruh baik atau motivasi baik kepada partner kerja, lingkungan perusahaan, serta masyarakat terutama perempuan yang sudah lulus sekolah dengan tujuan bekerja.
