Abstract

Utilization of waste to be used as raw materials is a step to avoid negative impacts on the environment, in line with the times the use of innovative technology is increasingly needed. One of the many technologies being developed is the material absorber as an absorption of electromagnetic waves so that radiation exposure does not have a negative impact on life. EAF graphite electrode waste can be synthesized into Graphene Oxide (GO) by Hummer's method. GO has the potential to absorb good electromagnetic waves. The addition of GO to Fe2O3 will increase the absorption value. In this study Fe2O3 dispersed with GO. This material can be applied to airplanes because it can absorb 8-12 GHz electromagnetic waves. The best results were obtained from the comparison ratio on the Fe2O3/GO (1) sample with a particle size of 41.40 nm and an absorption capacity of 19.74%. The addition of excessive GO absorption value will decrease significantly.

Additional Information: Pemanfaatan limbah untuk dijadikan bahan baku merupakan langkah menghindari dampak buruk terhadap lingkungan, sejalan dengan perkembangan zaman penggunaan teknologi inovasi semakin dibutuhkan. Salah satu teknologi yang banyak dikembangkan yaitu meterial absorber sebagai penyerapan gelombang elektromegnetik supaya radiasi yang terpapar tidak membawa dampak buruk terhadap kehidupan. Limbah elektroda grafit EAF dapat disintesis menjadi Graphene Oxide (GO) dengan metode Hummer’s . GO berpotensi dalam penyerapan gelombang elektromagnetik yang baik. Penambahan GO pada Fe2O3 akan meningkatkan nilai absropsi. Pada penelitian ini Fe2O3 didsipersi dengan GO. Material ini dapat diaplikasikan pada pesawat terbang karena mampu menyerap gelombang elektromagnetik 8-12 GHz. Hasil terbaik didapat dari rasio perbanding pada sampel Fe2O3/GO (1) dengan ukuran partikel 41,40 nm dan memiliki daya serap sebersar 19,74 %. Penambahan GO yang berlebihan nilai absorpsi akan menurun secara signifikan.
