Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by increased blood glucose levels that affect the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Caused by impaired insulin secretion or insulin action, an increase in blood glucose levels if not handled properly will cause long-term damage and failure of organs such as the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart and blood vessels. This case study aims to be able to provide emergency nursing care for diabetes mellitus with hyperglycemia. This research uses the nursing care approach starting from assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing intervention, nursing implementation and evaluation. The research subject in this case study was a comparison of 2 patients with diabetes mellitus. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that during the implementation of giving fluids and insulin basically, the problem of ineffective peripheral perfusion in both patients can be resolved every time an action is given, which is characterized by cold acral, poor skin turgor, decreased pulse / not palpable in both patient slowly stabilized within the normal range. However, interventions are still being continued to monitor health developments in patients.

| Additional Information: | Diabetes mellitus adalah suatu penyakit metabolik yang ditandai dengan peningkatan kadar glukosa darah yang mempengaruhi metabolisme karbohidrat, protein dan lemak. Yang disebabkan oleh gangguan sekresi insulin atau kerja insulin, peningkatan kadar glukosa darah jika tidak ditangani dengan tepat akan menyebabkan terjadinya kerusakan dalam jangka panjang dan kegagalan organ seperti mata, ginjal, saraf, jantung serta pembuluh darah. Studi kasus ini bertujuan untuk mampu memberikan asuhan keperawatan gawat darurat diabetes mellitus dengan hiperglikemi penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan asuhan keperawatan dimulai dari pengkajian, diagnosa keperawatan, intervensi keperawatan, implementasi keperawatan dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian dalam studi kasus ini yaitu perbandingan 2 orang pasien dengan diabetes mellitus. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh kesimpulan yaitu selama melakukan implementasi pemberian cairan serta insulin pada dasarnya, masalah perfusi perifer tidak efektif pada kedua pasien dapat teratasi setiap kali diberikan tindakan, yang ditandai dengan akral dingin, turgor kulit jelek, nadi menurun/tidak teraba pada kedua pasien perlahan stabil dalam rentang normal. Namun, intervensi masih dilanjutkan untuk memonitor perkembangan kesehatan pada pasien. | |||||||||
