Abstract

This study investigates a tourism collaboration, with a specific focus on its development in Sawarna Village, located in Lebak Regency. The collaboration plays a crucial role in stimulating and enhancing tourism activities, thereby contributing to the growth of local revenue derived from the tourism sector. Achieving this objective necessitates the presence of favorable accessibility conditions. Therefore, the authors employ descriptive qualitative methodologies and adopt relevant theories proposed by Santoso and Kurniawan (2015) to examine various aspects of this collaboration, including tourist attractions, transportation, accommodations, service facilities, and infrastructure. The underlying premise is that the government can leverage the tourism industry to promote the region to tourists and simultaneously augment local revenue. However, the current state of tourism development collaboration in Sawarna Village, Lebak, reveals suboptimal progress across the five key metrics, primarily due to the top-down nature of policies. In practice, other components of the collaboration are treated merely as passive objects, rather than being fully empowered as active subjects. A comprehensive and inclusive approach to tourism development necessitates cooperation among multiple stakeholders, encompassing the government, society, local communities, media, and academia.
