Abstract

Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis merupakan kemampuan yang termasuk pada Higher Order Thingking Skill (HOTS) yang menjadi aspek penting dan harus dimiliki oleh peserta didik diera sekarang ini, karena dengan memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis, dapat membantu siswa untuk memilih, menganalisis kebenaran dari suatu data dan mengambil keputusan yang benar sebelum melakukan tindakan. Namun faktanya, keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa masih tergolong rendah. Upaya untuk meningkatkan KBK siswa ialah dengan menerapkan pembelajaran STEM (Science, Tecnology, Engineering, Mathematic). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan KBK peserta didik setelah diterapkannya pembelajaran STEM dan untuk mengetahui respon peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran STEM pada materi asam basa. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian pre-eksperimen one-group Pretest-Posttest. Adapun sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 30 peserta didik kelas XI IPA 1 SMAN 1 Mancak dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan N-Gain dengan memperhatikan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kelompok indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan kriteria sedang. Hasil tersebut didukung dengan hasil perhitungan uji paired sample t-test sebesar 0,000 sehingga nilai signifikasi < 0,05 yang menandakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik setelah diterapkannya pembelajaran STEM, dengan hal ini H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak. Selain itu respon peserta didik terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran STEM pada materi asam basa ialah Baik. Hal ini terlihat pada hasil angket yang memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 76,10% dan termasuk kedalam kategori Baik.

Additional Information: Critical Thinking Skills are abilities included in Higher Order Thingking Skill (HOTS) which is an important aspect and must be possessed by students in today's era, because by having critical thinking skills, it can help students to choose, analyze the truth of a data and make the right decision before taking action.. But in fact, students' critical thinking skills are still relatively low. Efforts to improve student KBK are by applying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematic) learning. This study aims to determine the increase in student KBK after the implementation of STEM learning and to determine the response of students to STEM learning on acid-base material. This study used a pre-experimental research design one-group Pretest-Posttest. The samples used amounted to 30 students of grade XI Science 1 SMAN 1 Mancak with purposive sampling techniques. The data were analyzed descriptively using N-Gain by noting that there was an increase in the group of critical thinking skills indicators with moderate criteria.. These results are supported by the results of the paired sample t-test calculation of 0.000 so that the signification value < 0.05 which indicates that there are differences in students' critical thinking skills after the implementation of STEM learning, with this H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. In addition, the response of students to STEM learning activities on acid-base material is Good. This can be seen in the results of the questionnaire which obtained an average score of 76.10% and was included in the Good category.
