Abstract

Science learning requires skill in linking concepts and extracting evidence. In learning science, it is very necessary to support activities in the form of practicum or experiments in the laboratory. This is because science is built on the scientific method. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused changes in the learning system which has decreased student interest in learning. Learning is done in a hybrid manner which results in the non-implementation of practicum due to time constraints and difficulty to obtain practicum support tools, especially on the theme material of how my plants can live. Science practicum is very important to be carried out because it can help students understand science material. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a virtual laboratory-based science practicum that aims to develop, validate, and describe the level of efficiency. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the research and development model used referring to the 4D model from Thiagarajan (1974) through modifications tailored to the needs of the research limited to three stages, namely: Define, Design, and Development. The instruments used are expert validation sheets for validity testing, which are carried out by material experts, media experts, and junior high school science teachers and student response questionnaires to measure the efficiency level of the products developed. A Virtual laboratory based natural science practicum with the theme of how can my plants live towards the learning interest of class VIII students obtaining a percentage value of 89.31% reaching the "very valid" category obtained from all validators, material expert validation obtaining a percentage value of 77.28% in the "Valid" category ', the validation of media experts obtained a value of 93.27% in the "Very Valid" category and the validation of Middle School Science teachers obtained a value of 97.39% in the "Very Valid" category. The results of the efficiency level of the virtual laboratory-based science practicum obtained a percentage value of 89.14% in the "Very Efficient" category.

Additional Information: Pembelajaran IPA memerlukan suatu keterampilan dalam mengaitkan antar konsep dan penggalian bukti. Dalam pembelajaran IPA, sangat diperlukan kegiatan penunjang berupa praktikum maupun eksperimen di laboratorium. Hal ini dikarenakan IPA dibangun dengan metode ilmiah. Pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan berubahnya sistem pembelajaran yang membuat minat belajar siswa menurun. Pembelajaran dilakukan secara Hybrid yang mengakibatkan tidak terlaksananya praktikum dikarenakan keterbatasan waktu dan alat penunjang praktikum yang sult didapatkan, terutama pada materi tema bagaimana tumbuhanku bisa hidup. Praktikum IPA sangat penting untuk dilaksanakan, karena dapat membantu pemahaman siswa terhadap materi IPA. Maka dari itu, perlu diadakannya pengembangan praktikum IPA berbasis virtual laboratory yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan, memvalidasi, dan mendeskripsikan tingkat efisiensi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model penelitian dan pengembangan yang digunakan mengacu pada model 4D dari Thiagarajan melalui modifikasi yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan penelitian dibatas dalam tiga tahap yaitu : Pendefinisian (Define), Perancangan (Design) dan Pengembangan (Development). Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar validasi ahli untuk uji kevalidan, yang dilakukan oleh ahli materi, ahli media dan guru IPA SMP serta angket respon siswa untuk mengukur tingkat efisiensi produk yang dikembangkan. Praktikum IPA berbasis virtual laboratory tema bagaimana tumbuhanku bisa hidup terhadap minat belajar siswa kelas VIII mendapatkan nilai persentasse 89,31% mencapai kategori “sangat valid” yang didapat dari seluruh validator, validasi ahli materi memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 77,28% dengan kategori “Valid’, validasi ahli media memperoleh nilai sebesar 93,27% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid” dan validasi guru IPA SMP memperoleh nilai sebesar 97,39% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid”. Hasil tingkat efisiensi dari praktikum IPA berbasis virtual laboratory memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 89,14% dengan kategori “Sangat Efisien”.
