Abstract
The aims of this research were to examine teachers’ techniques in teaching English speaking and the perspectives of teachers and students about the teachers’ techniques in teaching English speaking at the second grade of SMAN 1 Baros in new normal era. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method that was indicated by Neuman (2014). The data were collected through questionnaire, observation, and interview. The participants of this research were the English teachers and the second - grade students of SMAN 1 Baros. The result of this study showed that in offline learning, the activities were carried out directly in the classroom with more various teaching techniques namely Brainstorming, Discussion, Describing Picture, Role-Play, Information Gap, and Speech. Meanwhile, in online learning all the learning activities were used internet networking. In offline class, the teacher used Projector to present the learning material such as, PowerPoint, Video, and Picture in the classroom. In this context, the teacher integrated more features of learning technology that support students to be more creative in achieved the learning objectives. Most of teachers were used pictures or other visuals to support their teaching activity because they felt more flexible and easier to deliver the material. It can be concluded that, to make students more enthusiastic and improved their speaking skills, the teacher should be innovative and creative on creating the teaching and learning process.

Additional Information: | Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis teknik guru dalam mengajar berbicara Bahasa Inggris dan perspektif guru dan siswa tentang teknik guru dalam mengajar berbicara Bahasa Inggris di kelas dua SMAN 1 Baros di era normal baru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang ditunjukkan oleh Neuman (2014). Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner, observasi, dan wawancara. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah guru Bahasa Inggris dan siswa kelas dua SMAN 1 Baros. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam pembelajaran luring kegiatan dilakukan langsung di dalam kelas dengan teknik pengajaran yang lebih bervariasi yaitu Brainstorming, Diskusi, Describing Picture, Role-Play, Information Gap, dan Speech. Sedangkan pada pembelajaran daring semua kegiatan pembelajaran menggunakan jaringan internet. Di kelas luring, guru menggunakan proyektor untuk mempresentasikan materi pembelajaran seperti, PowerPoint, video, dan gambar di kelas. Dalam konteks ini, guru mengintegrasikan lebih banyak fitur teknologi pembelajaran yang mendukung siswa untuk lebih kreatif dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Sebagian besar guru menggunakan gambar atau visual lainnya untuk mendukung kegiatan mengajar mereka karena mereka merasa lebih fleksibel dan lebih mudah dalam menyampaikan materi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa, untuk membuat siswa lebih antusias dan meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara mereka, guru harus inovatif dan kreatif dalam menciptakan proses belajar mengajar. | |||||||||
