Abstract
Background: There is a higher risk of infection during birth with the SC method compared to normal birth. Not a few mothers arrive at the hospital a few days after the surgical procedure with complaints of fever and pain at the incision site, which if not treated immediately can pose a risk to the mother and even lead to death (Zuatna, et al, 2021). Wound healing is a process of rehabilitating disturbed tissue function (Nurani, Keintjem and Losu, 2015). Objective: Researchers were able to calculate the risk of post-cesarean section infection in mothers based on indications of shoulder position with wound care procedures. Methods: This research is a descriptive case study using nursing methods such as assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Results: Shows that two patients underwent SC surgery for the first time and were diagnosed as being at risk of infection related to tissue invasion/trauma procedures. The researcher made a treatment plan for the two patients based on the IDHS, SIKI and SLKI guidelines according to the diagnoses given. Both patients were examined by the authors and concluded that the risks were manageable. Suggestion: Nursing education can encourage students to understand the importance of the nurse's role in the management and implementation of medical procedures for post-cesarean section patients in relation to the risk of infection.
