Abstract
Stereotypes or images of a society towards a gender regarding the behavior and personality of a person in the community. Gender stereotypes are still a community reference for how women and men in dressing, speaking, thinking and acting must be in accordance with the gender that has been determined. This study discusses how the stereotypical depiction of women in Yuni's film. This research is based on Roland Barthes' semiotic theory which analyzes it in three stages, namely denotation, connotation, and myth. The meaning of denotation is understood as the literal meaning or the real meaning. Meanwhile, the connotative meaning is the hidden or implicit meaning contained in the film and the mythical meaning is the justification meaning for a dominant value prevailing in a period. The research method used is qualitative with semiotic analysis. The unit of analysis used in this study is Yuni's film as a whole as a research object that will be examined in relation to cinematography, the appearance of the actors, sound, and production design (location, properties, and costumes). This study aims to see how the stereotypes of women in Yuni's films. The results obtained by the researcher relate to the stereotypes of women in the film "Yuni". may high school.

| Additional Information: | Stereotip atau gambaran suatu masyarakat terhadap suatu gender mengenai tingkah laku dan kepribadian seseorang di lingkungan masyarakat. Stereotip gender masih menjadi acuan masyarakat bagaimana perempuan dan laki-laki dalam berpakaian, berbicara, berpikir dan bertindak harus sesuai dengan gender yang telah di tetapkan. penelitian ini membahas tentang bagaimana penggambaran stereotip perempuan dalam film Yuni. penelitian ini berdasarkan pada teori semiotika Roland Barthes yang menganalisis dengan tiga tahapan, yaitu denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Makna denotasi dimengerti sebagai makna harfiah atau makna yang sesungguhnya. Sedangkan makna konotasi adalah makna yang tersembunyi atau implisit yang terdapat di dalam film tersebut dan makna mitos adalah makna pembenaran bagi suatu nilai dominan yang berlaku pada suatu periode. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan analisis semiotika. Unit analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu film Yuni secara keseluruhan sebagai objek penelitian yang akan diteliti terkait dengan sinematografi, penampilan para pemain, suara, dan desain produksi (lokasi, property, dan kostum). Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat bagaimana stereotip perempuan dalam film Yuni. Hasil yang diperoleh peneliti berkaitan dengan stereotip perempuan dalam film “Yuni” peneliti menemukan stereotip perempuan pada film Yuni, yaitu : perempuan sebagai objek seksualitas, perempuan lekat dengan peran domestic, perempuan sebagai korban, perempuan tidak diberi kebebasan dalam memilih, perempuan ranah domestic, tidak boleh sekolah tinggi. | |||||||||
