Abstract
This study aims to identify the effect of gender equality by using the variables of average year of schooling for women, life expectancy for women, women's involvement in parliament, contribution to women's income, and sex ratio on economic growth with observations in 34 provinces in Indonesia during the period 2014- 2021. This study uses a dynamic panel data approach using the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) model, where research data is obtained from publications provided by the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). Gender equality is considered to have an important role in the process of increasing economic growth. The results of this study indicate that women's life expectancy and women's involvement in parliament have a positive and significant effect on economic growth. Meanwhile, the average length of schooling for women, the contribution of women's income, and the sex ratio have a negative and significant effect on economic growth. This research recommends increasing equal educational programs for women and men and making policies that can eliminate disparities in the world of work for women.
