Abstract
This research aims to analyze the effect of political risk as measured by the political stability index and government effectiveness index, as well as other control variables which include external debt, Fed interest rate, and exchange rate volatility on capital flight in 34 developing countries during period 2011Q1 to 2021Q4. Using the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) method through the system GMM approach, the results show that political stability index and external debt have a negative significant effect on capital flight. Then, government effectiveness index, Fed interest rate, and exchange rate volatility have a positive significant effect on capital flight.
