Abstract

Introduction Doctors play a role as the front line in efforts to provide health services, therefore a doctor has a tendency to be exposed to infectious and non-infectious agents which is quite high. This can lead to work accidents and occupational diseases in health workers. Hospital occupational safety and health can be achieved by implementing a culture of preventive behavior, namely adherence to the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to standards. This research was conducted to see an overview of the level of adherence to the use of PPE and to identify factors related to adherence to the use of PPE by doctors in regional hospitals in Banten Province. Method This research was conducted at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Banten Province, Cilegon City Hospital, and dr. Prawiranegara Degree with cross sectional research design and sampling by convenience sampling technique. The number of respondents obtained was 97 respondents. Data collection was carried out by direct observation and filling out the questionnaires independently by the respondents. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis using chi-square and fisher tests in SPSS. Result The number of respondents in this study are 97 respondents. The results of the analysis showed that the level of adherence to the use of PPE is 85.6% for doctors in several regional hospitals in Banten Province. There is a significant relationship between age (P < 0.001; OR 19.7), years of service (P = 0.004; OR 6.2), level of education (P < 0.001; OR 21, 8), knowledge (P = 0.014; OR 7.9), attitude (P = 0.009; OR 7.1), and PPE use policy (P = 0.022; OR 4.2) with compliance with the use of PPE. Conclusion The results of this study indicate that adherence to the use of PPE by doctors has not reached 100%. Factors related to this condition range from individual factors, environment, and policies on the use of PPE in hospitals.

Additional Information:	Latar Belakang Dokter berperan sebagai garda terdepan dalam upaya pemberian layanan kesehatan, karenanya seorang dokter memiliki kecenderungan untuk terpapar agen-agen infeksius dan non-infeksius yang cukup tinggi. Hal tersebut dapat menimbulkan terjadinya kecelakaan kerja maupun penyakit akibat kerja pada tenaga kesehatan. Keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja rumah sakit dapat dicapai dengan melakukan budaya perilaku pencegahan, yaitu kepatuhan penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD) sesuai standar. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat gambaran tingkat kepatuhan penggunaan APD serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kepatuhan penggunaan APD pada dokter di rumah sakit wilayah Provinsi Banten. Metode Penelitian ini telah dilakukan di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah (RSUD) Provinsi Banten, RSUD Kota Cilegon, dan RSUD dr. Drajat Prawiranegara dengan desain penelitian cross sectional dan pengambilan sampel secara convenience sampling. Jumlah responden yang didapatkan sejumlah 97 responden. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara observasi langsung dan pengisian kuesioner secara mandiri oleh responden. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis univariat dan bivariat melalui uji chi-square dan fisher pada SPSS. Hasil Jumlah responden pada penelitian ini sebanyak 97 orang. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kepatuhan penggunaan APD sebesar 85,6 % pada dokter di beberapa rumah sakit wilayah Provinsi Banten. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara usia (P < 0,001; OR 19,7), masa kerja (P = 0,004; OR 6,2), tingkat pendidikan (P < 0,001; OR 21,8), pengetahuan (P = 0,014; OR 7,9), sikap (P = 0,009; OR 7,1), dan kebijakan penggunaan APD (P = 0,022; OR 4,2) dengan kepatuhan penggunaan APD. Kesimpulan Hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan kepatuhan penggunaan APD pada dokter belum mencapai 100%. Faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kondisi ini mulai dari faktor individu, lingkungan, dan kebijakan penggunaan APD di rumah sakit.
