Abstract
The ability of students' numeration skills in Indonesia is still relatively low as happened in grade 1 students at Cililitan 4 Public Elementary School, grade 1 students still have difficulty solving addition and subtraction word problems and in the learning process the teacher is less innovative in applying learning media that is more innovative, interactive and interesting. So that the researcher will apply the counting box learning media. This study aims to determine the feasibility of counting box media, determine the ability of students' numeration skills in class 1 after using media counting boxes and find out students' responses to media counting boxes to train students' numeration skills in class 1. The method used in this study uses the method Research and Development with the model developed by Sugiyono. Based on the results, the eligibility level of the media in terms of media reached 94.5%, media eligibility in terms of material reached 85.71% and media eligibility in terms of language reached 88.34%. The ability of students' numeracy skills in class 1 after using the media counting box can be said to be quite good, besides that the results of the student response questionnaire on product trials (small groups) involving 8 respondents yielded a percentage of 96.25% which was included in the category " very practical” and in the use trial (large group) which involved 21 respondents, it resulted in a percentage of 98.1% which fell into the “very practical” category. Additional Information: | Kemampuan keterampilan numerasi peserta didik di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah seperti yang terjadi pada peserta didik kelas 1 SD Negeri Cililitan 4, para peserta didik kelas 1 masih kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita penjumlahan dan pengurangan serta pada proses pembelajaran guru kurang inovatif dalam menerapkan media pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif, interaktif dan menarik. Sehingga peneliti akan menerapkan media pembelajaran counting box. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan media counting box, mengetahui kemampuan keterampilan numerasi peserta didik kelas 1 setelah menggunakan media counting box dan mengetahui respon peserta didik terhadap media counting box untuk melatih keterampilan numerasi peserta didik kelas 1. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan model yang di kembangkan oleh Sugiyono. Berdasarkan hasil dari tingkat kelayakan media dari segi media mencapi 94,5%, kelayakan media dari segi materi mencapai 85,71% dan kelayakan media dari segi bahasa mencapai 88,34%. Kemampuan keterampilan numerasi peserta didik kelas 1 setelah menggunakan media counting box dapat dikatakan cukup baik, selain itu hasil dari angket respon peserta didik pada uji coba produk (kelompok kecil) yang melibatkan 8 orang responden menghasilkan presentase sebesar 96,25% yang masuk dalam kategori “sangat praktis” dan pada uji coba pemakaian (kelompok besar) yang melibatkan 21 orang responden menghasilkan presentase sebesar 98,1% yang masuk dalam kategori “sangat praktis”.
