Abstract
Introduction In practice, the level of compliance of health workers in using PPE is still not good, so they have a risk of exposure to hazards in the hospital. Nurses are health workers who interact directly with patients. In practice, nurse compliance in implementing PPE is defined as obedience to use PPE according to established procedures. This study aims to determine what factors are related to adherence to the use of PPE by nurses at the Regional Hospital of Banten Province. Metode The design of this study used a cross-sectional study with nurse respondents from 3 hospitals in Banten Province who were selected by convenience sampling. The research data was obtained using a questionnaire and observation. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test or fisher's test. Results Total respondents in this study were 105 respondents, with an average age of 33-45 years and the majority were female. The majority of respondents have good knowledge and attitudes regarding PPE and have worked for ≥5 years. As many as 88 respondents (83.8%) nurses adhered to using PPE and 95 respondents (90.5%) said that PPE is available in every installation of their work unit. From the results of this study, there was a statistically significant relationship between knowledge (P=<0.001), attitude (P=<0.001), years of service (P=0.001) and availability of PPE (P=0.009) and nurse compliance in using PPE. Meanwhile, there was no statistically significant relationship between work unit installations and nurse compliance in using PPE (P=0.237). Conclusion The majority of nurse respondents at the regional hospital in Banten province are compliant in using PPE and factors such as knowledge, attitudes, years of service, and availability of PPE are related to nurse adherence in using PPE. | Additional Information: | Latar Belakang Dalam pelaksanaannya tingkat kepatuhan tenaga kesehatan dalam penggunaan APD masih kurang baik, sehingga memiliki risiko terpapar bahaya yang ada di rumah sakit. Perawat adalah tenaga kesehatan yang berinteraksi langsung dengan pasien. Dalam pelaksanaannya kepatuhan perawat dapat diartikan sebagai ketaatan dalam menggunakan APD sesuai dengan prosedur yang telah ditetapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor apa saja yang berhubungan dengan kepatuhan penggunaan APD pada perawat di Rumah Sakit Wilayah Provinsi Banten. Metode Desain penelitian ini menggunakan cross-sectional dengan responden perawat yang berasal dari 3 rumah sakit di Wilayah Provinsi Banten yang terpilih secara convenience sampling. Data penelitian ini diperoleh menggunakan kuesioner dan observasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji chi-square atau uji fisher. Hasil Total responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 105 responden, dengan rata-rata usia 33-45 tahun dan mayoritas berjenis kelamin perempuan. Mayoritas responden memiliki pengetahuan dan sikap yang baik terkait apd serta memiliki masa kerja ≥5 tahun. Sebanyak 88 responden (83,8%) perawat patuh dalam menggunakan APD dan 95 responden (90,5%) mengatakan bahwa APD tersedia disetiap instalasi unit kerjanya. Dari hasil penelitian ini terdapat hubungan bermakna secara statistik antara pengetahuan (P=<0.001), sikap (P=<0.001), masa kerja (P=0.001) dan ketersediaan APD (P=0.009) dengan kepatuhan perawat dalam menggunakan APD. Sedangkan tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna secara statistik antara instalasi unit kerja dengan kepatuhan perawat dalam menggunakan APD (P=0,237). Kesimpulan Mayoritas responden perawat di rumah sakit wilayah provinsi Banten sudah patuh dalam menggunakan APD dan faktor-faktor seperti pengetahuan, sikap, masa kerja, serta ketersediaan APD berhubungan dengan kepatuhan perawat dalam menggunakan APD.
