Abstract

Pregnant women are a group of people who are at risk of anemia. Anemia is a condition that occurs when the red blood cells in the body are less than normal (<11 g/dL in the third trimester of pregnancy). Intake of macro and micro nutrients during pregnancy can affect the incidence of anemia, so it’s really necessary to pay attention both to quantity and quality. The purpose of this study was to determine the association of nutrient intake and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the working area of the Serang City Health Center. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional research design. Samples were taken using purposive sampling technique as many as 81 third trimester pregnant women. Nutrient intake was measured using food recall 1x24 hours and SQ-FFQ for 6 months, while the data on hemoglobin levels were taken from secondary data on Hb measurement records. The results of this study showed that pregnant women had sufficient energy intake (59.3%), insufficient protein intake (72.8%), insufficient iron intake (97.5%), insufficient folic acid intake (97.5%), less vitamin B12 (77.8%), and less intake of vitamin C (58%). The results of the chi-square analysis showed that energy intake had an association with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women (p=0.029) and there was no association of protein intake, iron intake, folic acid intake, vitamin B12 intake, and vitamin C intake with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the work area of the Serang City Health Center (p>0.05).

Anemia merupakan suatu kondisi yang terjadi akibat jumlah sel darah merah di dalam tubuh kurang dari normal (<11 g/dL pada kehamilan trimester III). Asupan zat gizi makro dan mikro selama kehamilan dapat mempengaruhi kejadian anemia, sehingga sangat perlu diperhatikan baik secara kuantitas maupun kualitas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan asupan zat gizi dengan kejadian anemia pada ibu hamil di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kota Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian cross sectional. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling sebanyak 81 ibu hamil trimester III. Asupan zat gizi diukur menggunakan food recall 1x24 jam dan SQ-FFQ 6 bulan, sedangkan data kadar hemoglobin diambil dari data sekunder catatan pengukuran Hb. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ibu hamil memiliki asupan energi cukup (59,3%), asupan protein kurang (72,8%), asupan zat besi kurang (97,5%), asupan asam folat kurang (97,5%), asupan vitamin B12 kurang (77,8%), dan asupan vitamin C kurang (58%). Hasil analisis uji chi-square menunjukkan bahwa asupan energi memiliki hubungan dengan kejadian anemia pada ibu hamil (p=0,029) dan tidak terdapat hubungan antara asupan protein, asupan zat besi, asupan asam folat, asupan vitamin B12, dan asupan vitamin C dengan kejadian anemia pada ibu hamil di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kota Serang (p>0,05).
