Abstract
Roads have a very strategic role in the social, economic, cultural and security defense fields, but over time the performance of the pavement has decreased to the durability of a pavement layer generally related to how long the pavement construction is able to carry out its function without experiencing bad damage. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the effect of wood charcoal filler on the performance of mixtures with a percentage of 0%, 1.5%, 2%, and 2.5% on marshall characteristics, therefore this study can determine the ideal composition of charcoal as an additive to add filler. The results of this study show that the use of mahogany wood charcoal waste as a substitute for aggregate meets the specifications of LFA class A. Through the marshall test referring to the 2018 Bina Marga General Specifications, the ideal proportion of the addition of mahogany wood charcoal waste to the asphalt concrete mixture is obtained based on the highest stability value in each proportion of the mixture, from the results of the study show that the optimum asphalt content (KAO) obtained at 0% charcoal content and 1.5% charcoal content is at 6.25% asphalt content, and at 2% and 2.5% charcoal content is at 6% asphalt content. Based on the optimum stability value at each proportion of all marshall characteristics of the mixture according to the General Specifications of Bina Marga 2018 Division 6 for the type of mixture of Wear Layer Asphalt Concrete (Laston) (AC-WC), namely at 1.5% charcoal content with 6.25% asphalt content reaches the optimum point with a stability value of 1066.92 kg. while for the comparison of stability values at 0% charcoal content and at 6.25% asphalt content with a stability value of only 1014.62%. Additional Information: | Jalan mempunyai peran yang sangat strategis dalam bidang sosial, ekonomi, budaya dan pertahanan keamanan, akan tetapi seiring dengan waktu kinerja perkerasan mengalami penurunan terhadap durabilitas suatu lapisan perkerasan umumnya berkaitan dengan seberapa lama konstruksi perkerasan mampu menjalankan fungsinya tanpa mengalami kerusakan yang fatal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini mengetahui karakteristik pengaruh filler arang kayu terhadap kinerja campuran dengan presentase 0%, 1,5%, 2%, dan 2,5% terhadap karakteristik marshall maka dari itu penelitian ini bisa mengetahui komposisi ideal arang sebagai bahan tambah pada filler. Didapatkan dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penggunaan limbah arang kayu mahoni sebagai pengganti agregat memenuhi spesifikasi LFA kelas A. Melalui uji marshall yang mengacu pada Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga 2018 didapat proporsi ideal penambahan limbah arang kayu mahoni pada campuran aspal beton berdasarkan nilai stabilitas tertinggi pada setiap proporsi campuran, dari hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kadar aspal optimum (KAO) yang didapat pada kadar arang 0% dan kadar arang 1,5% yaitu pada kadar aspal 6,25%, dan pada kadar arang 2% dan 2,5% yaitu pada kadar aspal 6%. Berdasarkan nilai stabilitas optimum pada setiap proporsi semua karakteristik marshall campuran sesuai Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga 2018 Divisi 6 untuk jenis campuran Lapis Aspal Beton (Laston) Lapis Aus (AC-WC) yaitu pada kadar arang 1,5% dengan kadar aspal 6,25 % mencapai titik optimum dengan nilai stabilitas 1066,92 kg. sedangkan untuk perbandingan nilai stabilitas pada kadar arang 0% dan pada kadar aspal 6,25% dengan nilai stabilitas hanya mencapai 1014,62%.
