Abstract

ABSTRACT ENTAM KHOTAMI, 2015. Investment Feasibility Analysis and Farming Sensitivity of California Papaya (Carica papaya L) (Case in Pandeglang Distric). Under the guidance of ALIUDIN and GUGUN GUNAWAN. Indonesa as a tropical country has many kinds of superior fruit, one type of fruit that prefer by consumer is papaya. The one type of papaya which has a high value of economic is California Papaya (Calina IPB-9). More increasing consumption of fruit in Indonesian society cause of growing demand of papaya fruit. However the production of papaya in Banten is still lacking to meet a demand of consumer. Pandeglang as one of the districts in Banten province has a lot of potential to be able to increase the production of papaya. The availability of land for cultivation and geographical conditions that support, the availability of high labor in agriculture, and the farmers are more interest to develop the cultivation of California Papaya is a potential that needs to be empowered. This study aims to know the level of investment feasibility and sensitivity of California Papaya farm in Pandeglang district. The methodology of reaserch is survey method. Data analysis method to know the level feasibility is The Investment Eligibility Criteria Method that consist of the Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate Of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PP) and Profitability Index (PI). As for knowing the sensitivity of that feasibility use of The Sensitivity Analysis Method. The result of this study indicate California Papaya farm in Pandeglang district deserves to cultivated primarily in medium scale farming with NPV value of Rp 74.310.541,- IRR value obtained of 144,997 %, and PP for 1,687 years. The PI value is equal to 2,188. The results of test the sensitivity of the farm known Four scenarios feasible for cultivated by assumptions are : The cost of fertilizers and pesticides are increase by 20 %, the production is up 10 %. The total cost of production down 10 % while production is constant. The investment costs down 30 % while production is constant. The production is up 50 % at fixed production costs. Tri scenarios are less worthy by assumptions : The cost of fertilizers and pesticides are down by 20 %, the production is down 10 %. The total cost of production is up 10 %, while production is constant. The investment costs is up 10 % while production is constant. Scenario eighth that is condition where the farm is unfeasible when production down 50 %. Keywords: california papaya, feasibility analysis, sensitivity analysis
