Abstract

This research aims to describe the Ablo application which is a Social Network Site as the learning medium for Indonesian EFL learners. It used descriptive qualitative research to describe how the Ablo application and its features are to learn the four English skills, the feasibility of this application as a Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL), and the learners' interest in this application. This research used participatory observations on the features of the Ablo application and interviews with 30 users who had been using this application in Indonesia. The results of this research showed that Ablo as an application can be used to learn four language skills in English for EFL learners in Indonesia. As feasibility of MALL, it also fulfills the main characters such as portability, social interactivity, context sensitivity, connectivity, and individuality. Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aplikasi Ablo yang merupakan Situs Jejaring Sosial sebagai media pembelajaran untuk pembelajar EFL Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif jelaskan bagaimana aplikasi Ablo dan fitur-fiturnya untuk mempelajari empat keterampilan bahasa Inggris, yaitu kelayakan aplikasi ini sebagai Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL), dan minat peserta didik pada aplikasi ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan observasi partisipatif pada fitur aplikasi Ablo dan wawancara dengan 30 pengguna yang telah menggunakan ini aplikasi di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Ablo sebagai aplikasi dapat digunakan untuk mempelajari empat keterampilan bahasa dalam bahasa Inggris untuk pelajar EFL di Indonesia. Sebagai kelayakan MALL, juga memenuhi karakter utama seperti portabilitas, sosial interaktivitas, sensitivitas konteks, konektivitas, dan individualitas. Sedangkan minat dari belajar di Ablo sangat positif. Kata Kunci: Aplikasi Ablo, EFL, Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL), Pembelajar Minat, Pembelajaran online.
