Abstract

This study aims to: 1) analyze the relationship between the managerial abilities of school principals and the quality of public elementary schools; 2) analyze the relationship between learning leadership and the quality of public elementary schools; 3) analyze the relationship between the feasibility of facilities and the quality of public elementary schools; and 4) analyze the relationship between the managerial abilities of school principals, learning leadership, the feasibility of facilities, and the quality of public elementary schools in Cikande District. The research method in this study uses structural equation modeling (SEM), which is an equation model with a variance-based approach or component-based structural equation modeling. The instrument used in this research is a non-test instrument in the form of a closed questionnaire. This research was conducted on teachers at 32 public elementary schools in Cikande District, Serang Regency, Banten Province, with a total population of 308. Then, through the random sampling technique, 171 samples were obtained for this study. The data analysis in this study used the SmartPLS 3.0 program. Hypothesis testing with the PLS approach is carried out in two stages, namely testing the outer model and the inner model. The outer model test is carried out to prove the validity and reliability of all indicators for each variable. The inner model test is carried out to test the relationship between variables according to the hypotheses previously set. The results of the research hypothesis stated that: 1) the managerial ability variable of the school principal has a relationship with the school quality variable, with a P-value of 0.000 < 0.05; 2) the school learning leadership variable has a relationship with the school quality variable, with a P-value of 0.003 < 0.05; 3) The feasibility of the facility variable has a relationship with the school quality variable, with a P-value of 0.007 < 0.05. 4) The R square value for a joint or simultaneous relationship X1, X2, and X3 with Y is 0.839, with an adjusted r square value of 0.836. Thus, it can be explained that all exogenous constructs have a relationship with Y of 0.839, or 83.9%. Based on the results of the data review, it is recommended that school principals continue to improve managerial skills, learn leadership, and maintain and improve the feasibility of facilities to improve school quality.

Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) yaitu model persamaan dengan pendekatan berbasis varians atau pemodelan persamaan struktural berbasis komponen. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah instrumen non tes berupa angket tertutup. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada guru di 32 Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kecamatan Cikande, Kabupaten Serang Provinsi Banten dengan jumlah populasi 308. Kemudian melalui teknik random sampling diperoleh 171 sampel dalam penelitian ini. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan program SmartPLS 3.0. Pengujian hipotesis dengan pendekatan PLS, dilakukan dengan dua tahap, yaitu pengujian outer model dan inner model. Uji outer model dilakukan untuk membuktikan validitas dan reliabilitas seluruh indikator pada masing-masing variabel. Uji inner model dilakukan untuk menguji hubungan antar variabel sesuai hipotesis yang ditetapkan sebelumnya. Hasil hipotesis penelitian menyatakan; 1) variabel kemampuan manajerial kepala sekolah mempunyai hubungan dengan variabel mutu sekolah, dengan nilai P-Value 0,000 < 0,05, 2) Variabel kepemimpinan pembelajaran mempunyai hubungan dengan variabel mutu sekolah, dengan nilai P-Value 0,003 < 0,05, 3) Variabel kelayakan sarana mempunyai hubungan dengan variabel mutu sekolah, dengan nilai P-Value 0,007 < 0,05, 4) Nilai R Square mempunyai hubungan secara bersama-sama atau simultan X1, X2 dan X3 dengan Y adalah sebesar 0,839 dengan nilai adjusted r square 0.836. Maka, dapat dijelaskan bahwa semua konstruk exogen memiliki hubungan dengan Y sebesar 0,839 atau 83,9%. Berdasarkan hasil kajian data tersebut direkomendasikan kepada kepala sekolah untuk senantiasa meningkatkan kemampuan manajerial, kepemimpinan pembelajaran, dan menjaga serta meningkatkan kelayakan sarana guna meningkatkan kualitas sekolah.
