Abstract
Song creation is the ability of new minds and creative dreams that produce a song based on understanding musical elements consisting of rhythm, melody, harmony and song structure. Music art is material at the junior high school education level according to the 2013 curriculum with the subject matter in class VII in even semesters which includes vocal techniques, musical elements, and singing unisono or singing one voice such as singing the melody of one song. Efforts to increase understanding of musical elements with the Contextual Teaching and Learning (TCL) learning model and using the Classroom Action Research (PTK) approach are carried out with the stages of planning, action, observation and reflection which are divided into pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II. Song creation learning has increased the understanding and creativity of music students of grade VII A SMPN 5 Mandalawangi from the number of students as many as 17 people with high creativity scores of 35% of students in the pre-cycle stage, increased to 56% in cycle I, and again increased by 88% in cycle II. Based on the results of interviews of students with the highest, medium and low grades, there are different patterns for making songs and have different obstacles in the learning process.

| Additional Information: | Penciptaan lagu adalah kemampuan pikiran baru dan angan-angan kreatif yang menghasilkan sebuah lagu didasari oleh pemahaman unsur musik yang terdiri atas irama, melodi, harmoni dan struktur lagu. Seni musik merupakan materi pada jenjang pendidikan SMP sesuai kurikulum 2013 dengan materi pokok di kelas VII pada semester genap yang mencakup teknik vokal, unsur – unsur musik, dan bernyanyi secara unisono atau bernyanyi satu suara seperti menyanyikan melodi satu lagu. Upaya peningkatan pemahaman unsur musik dengan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (TCL) dan menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini dilakukan dengan tahap perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi yang terbagi atas pra siklus, siklus I dan siklus II. Pembelajaran cipta lagu mengalami peningkatan pemahaman dan kreativitas musik siswa kelas VII A SMPN 5 Mandalawangi dari jumlah siswa sebanyak 17 orang dengan nilai kreativitas tinggi 35% siswa pada tahap pra siklus, meningkat menjadi 56% pada siklus I, dan kembali terjadi peningkatan yaitu 88% pada siklus II. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara siswa dengan nilai tertinggi, sedang dan rendah terdapat pola yang berbeda untuk membuat lagu dan memiliki kendala yang berbeda-beda dalam proeses pembelajaran. | |||||||||
