Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of self-efficacy on critical mathematical thinking, whether there is an effect of learning motivation on critical mathematical thinking, and to determine whether there is an effect of self-efficacy and learning motivation on critical mathematical thinking in students of SMPN 7 Serang. The method used is descriptive correlational method. The sample of this research was 30 students. Data collection techniques using instruments in the form of questionnaires and tests. Item validity was tested using Product Moment correlation, while the reliability coefficient of the instrument was tested using Alpha Cronbach technique. To find out whether or not the effect of each research variable is carried out using the SPSS 20.0 program application. The result of this study showed that: 1) there was significant effect of self-efficacy on critical mathematical thinking with the contribution is 16%. 2) there was no significant effect of learning motivation on critical mathematical thinking with the contribution 1,1%. 3) there was simultaneously significant effects among self-efficacy and learning motivation on critical mathematical thinking with contribution is 20,3% and the other 79,7% was effected by another factors.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh self-efficacy terhadap berpikir kritis matematis, pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap berpikir kritis matematis, serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh self-efficacy dan motivasi belajar terhadap berpikir kritis matematis pada siswa SMPN 7 Kota Serang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif korelasional. Sampel penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas VIII SMPN 7 Kota Serang sebanyak 30 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen berupa angket dan tes. Validitas butir diuji dengan menggunakan korelasi Product Moment, sedangkan koefisien reliabilitas instrumen diuji dengan menggunakan teknik Alpha Cronbach. Untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh masing-masing variabel penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan aplikasi program SPSS 20.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh secara parsial self-efficacy terhadap berpikir kritis matematis dengan sumbangan pengaruh sebesar 16%. (2) tidak terdapat pengaruh secara parsial motivasi belajar terhadap berpikir kritis matematis dengan sumbangan pengaruh sebesar 1,1%, (3) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan secara bersama-sama self-efficacy dan motivasi belajar terhadap berpikir kritis matematis dengan sumbangan pengaruh adalah 20,3% dan sisanya 79,7% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain.
