Abstract

This study aims to describe the creative thinking process of junior high school students who had high, medium and low capability in solving fraction problems based on Wallas theory. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this research is grade VII students of SMP Negeri 18 Serang City. The instruments used in this study were written test questions and interview guidelines. The data analysis technique was carried out in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and verification or conclusion drawing. The validity of the data in this study includes credibility, transferability, dependability and confirmability tests. The results showed that students with high ability for the fluency and novelty indicators had been fulfilled until the verification stage, while for the flexibility indicator it is only at the incubation stage. Students with medium ability for the fluency indicator are fulfilled until the verification stage, while for the flexibility indicator it is only at the preparation stage and for the novelty indicator it is fulfilled until the illumination stage. Only one student with low ability was fulfilled until the illumination stage for the fluency indicator, while the other students were only at the preparation stage. Then for the flexibility indicator it only reached the preparation stage and for the novelty indicator does not fulfilled any stage.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir kreatif siswa SMP yang berkemampuan tinggi, sedang dan rendah dalam menyelesaikan soal bilangan pecahan berdasarkan teori Wallas. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 18 Kota Serang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal tes tertulis dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan 3 tahap, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan verifikasi atau penarikan kesimpulan. Uji keabsahan data pada penelitian ini meliputi uji kredibilitas, transferabilitas, dependabilitas dan konfirmabilitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa berkemampuan tinggi untuk indikator kelancaran dan kebaruan sudah terpenuhi sampai tahap verifikasi, sedangkan untuk indikator keluwesan hanya sampai tahap inkubasi. Siswa berkemampuan sedang untuk indikator kelancaran terpenuhi sampai tahap verifikasi, sedangkan untuk indikator keluwesan hanya sampai tahap persiapan dan untuk indikator kebaruan terpenuhi sampai tahap iluminasi. Hanya satu siswa berkemampuan rendah yang memenuhi sampai tahap iluminasi untuk indikator kelancaran, sedangkan siswa lain hanya memenuhi tahap persiapan. Kemudian, untuk indikator keluwesan hanya sampai tahap persiapan dan untuk indikator kebaruan belum mampu memenuhi tahap manapun.
