Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the effect of documentary films on increasing the interest of learning grade VII students against PPKn subjects at SMP Islam Darrul Yaqiin. The method used is the experimental quasi method. This research was conducted by providing treatment to the experimental group and providing control groups as a comparison. Determination of this type of experimental quasi research on the grounds that this research is in the form of educational research that uses humans as research subjects. Humans are not the same and are unstable. Therefore, foreign variables that affect the treatment cannot be strictly controlled as desired in the research of pure experimental types. The results showed that the use of audio visual learning media (documentary films) about the reality that occurred around was able to attract the interest of students. The more often the application of audio visual learning media (documentary films) in the learning of Pancasila and citizenship education, the students will be more interested and can facilitate the material to be learned.

Additional Information: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan Pengaruh Film Dokumenter Terhadap Peningkatan Minat Belajar Peserta Didik Kelas VII Pada Mata Pelajaran PPKn di SMP Islam Darrul Yaqiin. Metode yang digunakan yakni metode kuasi eksperimen. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan memberikan perlakuan kepada kelompok eksperimen dan menyediakan kelompok kontrol sebagai pembanding. Penetapan jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen ini dengan alasan bahwa penelitian ini berupa penelitian pendidikan yang menggunakan manusia sebagai subjek penelitian. Manusia tidak ada yang sama dan bersifat labil. Oleh sebab itu, variabel asing yang memengaruhi perlakuan tidak bisa dikontrol secara ketat sebagaimana yang dikehendaki dalam penelitian berjenis eksperimen murni. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran audio visual (film dokumenter) tentang realita yang terjadi di sekitar ternyata mampu meningkatkan minat peserta didik. Semakin sering dilakukan penerapan media pembelajaran audio visual (film dokumenter) dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan, maka peserta didik akan lebih tertarik dan dapat mempermudah memahami materi yang akan dipelajari.
